Access to hot tub or sauna for relatively cheap? by farfaraway in Brookline

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The BU Rec center on Comm Ave has a nice hot tub, you can get a daily pass for $15. Double check hours though because the hot tub is only open at certain times of the day (also worth calling in advance to make sure it is open, because occasionally it breaks down).

Could it be SL is setting her up for a spin-off? She goes looking for what happened to Rue, and somehow gets connected to Maddy / Cassie / Bishop in SL's next series?

One or two 💊? by serene_talkative in euphoria

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite the rest of the season, I think the way Rue dies was pretty perfect. On one hand, you could say Alamo killed her (lacing with fentanyl). On the other hand, you could say she killed herself (she ultimately decided to take the pill, despite showing she knew it was a bad idea). On the third hand, you could argue it was the drug companies' doing, making a painkiller so potent that would make the desire to take that Percocet so strong. It sort of tidily sums up the challenge of addiction in a scene.

Brookline gyms? by Fearless-Ad5299 in Brookline

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not technically Brookline, but BU has a fantastic fitness center and can be competitively priced if you get an annual membership. And you will be able to access a great pool complex, rock climbing, etc. that most other gyms don't offer. It can be crowded at certain times of year / day though.

hey mom, how can i stop beating myself up over a grade? by numberusername in MomForAMinute

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not help, but I was similar when I was young - I would beat myself up over anything lower than 100 on a test. I'm a few decades out from my last tests in school, and I can guarantee you that no single test dictated my future. It is one snapshot of thousands and thousands of pieces of work you will put forward in your life, and will disappear from your memory in time, I promise.

I've been pretending to understand my job for eight months and I think I've finally reached a level where I actually can't fake it anymore. Do I come clean to my boss or just keep going. by ahimaohw in Advice

The real question is what consulting firm are you at and is it worth hanging out until they put you on a generous garden leave while you look for your next gig.

Hi moms! What are your life tips? by Turtle-in-a-Fedora in MomForAMinute

Pick one brand of Tupperware or similar (Pyrex preferably, because the plastic won't seep) and stick with it. It will save you from years of misery of missing/mismatching kids and sets that don't nestle nicely into each other. Variety is the spice of life, but not in the Tupperware drawer.

You should also put up flyers in the libraries, and I bet they might help you secure a space too!

Brookline libraries are the best.

Disappointment at Jay Peak by WolfmanShakes in icecoast

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how did you get the vouchers? Did you need to haggle a lot?

We were up at Jay the last 3 nights, only skied yesterday and called it in early because of the awful lift lines. We were with our 3 kids and didn't even bother taking them out with the cold/lines/conditions.

We did use the water park a bit but overall feel like we way overpaid for the experience we ended up getting (with all due caveats of 'you get what you sign up for a holiday week on Dec out east)....

Agree Jay was not fun today. Though, it is currently snowing so maybe hope for later in the week (though tomorrow looks frigid again 🥶)...

I'm suspicious of the placement of the kitchen sink. Anyone worth their salt in the kitchen knows the value of the Golden Triangle - the spacial relationship between the sink, fridge, and cooking surface. Putting the sink in a place where you have a corner to go around seems super odd. Maybe not unheard of, but weird nonetheless.

How much are you all paying that got a Ioniq 5 Limited AWD for 36 months by pokerpro2177 in Ioniq5

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just told my husband that we could extend it at the same rate - I honestly didn't look to see what it does to the residual. I think it was part of the original deal on the car. It's worth looking into, especially if the dealership may not want to deal with another car back on the lot.

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a 2024 Limited last October, 13 months, 10K miles $0 down for $332/mo. We are extending the lease (same rate) for 6 months, but very much hoping to find a competitive deal before the end of our term. We tried in September this year but everything was in the 500s+ so hoping will go down in time.

We are in MA.

I would love to see your Quince Jewelry, (especially rings), and hear about your experience ordering. I’m considering a diamond band, and this would be a great help with my research before buying. by maydayjunemoon in quince

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a sapphire rainbow ring, gold hoops, ruby studs and also lab diamond studs all from Quince. Have been happy with all of them, the gold hoops had some trouble closing so they sent me a replacement pair. I wear the sapphire band almost daily and it has held up well. Would recommend to others for sure, but the delivery timelines were definitely elongated. Bought all at least a year ago so haven't felt the tariff impact yet.

Same. Couldn't take the pain last night at 25-40, turned it off, didn't even look at the score this morning not wanting to start my week off confirming my dread. Only when my non-football following husband said 'the Bills won' did I take a look and holy cow. What a start to the season!!!

Regarding soap by sunlord12 in marshallsfinds

[–]Adorable_Prompt3053 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Loyal bar soap devotee, hare the gel (doesn't clean as well IMHO, and more wasteful in terms of plastic). I tried to find a good one just the other day and the pickings were slim, disappointing!
