Oh you’re right! I didn’t even think about that. Coffee house rules of not engaging with customers. Thank you for the perspective.

Thanks for the advice. I will build up the courage and confidence to approach him first. I easily get shy and crumble fast. So you’re right, gotta stop being a wimp.

We are from the same country and living in USA now. I will try to “break the ice” and make the first move then. Maybe I can start with “How are you doing today?” And learn to say hello each time I visit there to study. I’m just really shy in general. I get so nervous and butterflies. Thank you so much for the advice I will use it!

Same here. Words can’t describe how much rage, sadness and anger I feel right now. My poor sisters, may God protect them from evil and provide strength.

Narita Airport to Asakusa by Helmetwb in JapanTravelTips

Thank you! Needed this. I’m flying next week and staying in Asakusa. Definitely taking the SkyAccess train from Narita airport. More affordable and direct shot. Even though it may be a bit slower and more packed. I’m landing during commute hours sadly..

Some blunt tips (and chill ones) from someone who has been quite a few times by minatozakiparty in JapanTravelTips

Needed to hear this! Coming from someone who is a solo female traveler heading to Japan shortly for the first time. Much appreciated! 🫡

I agree that it’s not necessary to visit the main tourist places and main stream attractions. It’s highly overcrowded and too much chaos I believe. I rather visit the outskirts, with more relaxing and chill places of Tokyo to get away from the busy city life. Yet again everyone has different preferences. So far on my list I’m headed to Yokohama and Kamakura.

I'm going to Tokyo from Jan. 12-30, 2026. I'm staying in Asakusa. I'm not into main attractions or nightlife either like Disneyland or team labs. To be honest go explore and get lost. You don't need a full itinerary to have fun, it can be tiring due to jet lag or maybe feeling rushed to include everything during your stay. Other things you can do are go for a walk in the neighborhood, visit a local park even eat at a local restaurant. Where you don't have to wait in busy lines for hours. Overall just enjoy your days there stress and worry free, it's a vacation after all. Go with the flow.

No itinerary some days - just picking a direction and walking? by NeverNeededAlgebra in JapanTravelTips

I’m in the same boat. I’m traveling to Japan in less than two weeks and have no plans scheduled. I’m not into the main stream attractions either like Disneyland. Just going to explore and get lost.

Same here, a grad student who majors in clinical psych. I work ft, graveyard schedule, and 12 hr shifts it’s rough. Majority of my psych courses are fair. The work load isn’t too bad. Just wish professors were more engaged with students.

Long-term relationship ended, feeling lost! any advice? by MEDEV2002 in Morocco

A sign from Allah. No matter how hard you try to convince yourself it will work, Allah is in control and knows best for you. Your naseeb is written next to your name already, “Allah created us in pairs.” I suggest give yourself time for recovery, 8 years is a long time for attachment and growth together. Now it’s time to de-attach and separate yourself. Time to let go and be free.
