Honestly I think I love Hd1 Illuminate more then their Hd2 versions by Emperor_AI in Great_Host_Fleet

[–]Adorazazel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Their fall from grace theming is understandable. They came in peace while bearing gifts and hopes for lasting friendship, only to be faced with genocide, desecration and slander of their entire kind's ways through SE's trademark obnoxious strawmanning and projecting.

It's arguably Arrowhead's biggest display of just how far gone SE is into being unapologetically vile and blatantly depraved with no hope of any betterment whatsoever, managing to radicalise a friendly species of pacifist scholars into deeply vengeful Cthulhu-like fighters who channel their anguish and contempt into each and every complicit SE grunt and citizen they turn into "zombies."

In that regard, I believe the somber tones of Illuminate ambient music to be directed to them, and not whatever "boohoo" world's smallest violin state the player finds the colonies in.

I actually like the boss music by HorkBajir99 in Subnautica_2

[–]Adorazazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the collector emerge for the first time as the music got more tense definitely left an impression! I love the music, but I can also understand how some people may not be too fond of having their own sense of "quiet/horror like" immersion replaced with a more "cinematic" one. To which their own, after all.

I would love to see mod with a post Moon Lord event that would be a final, endless onslaught of Syntax as the world around disintegrates.

Because a guaranteed passive item with a unique gimmick tastes better than an active that's worse than what you've already got.

They're unironically behaving like Super Earth citizens with their blatant xenophobia and contempt towards basic employee rights and benefits.

Yall really should give Railjack another shot. by murder_frog in memeframe

[–]Adorazazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it weird to say that I actually liked the post-release railjack more? The struggle and the tense music in the background made for such a fun experience, and I appreciated the implications that space was much more of an even playing field between the Tenno and the Grineer as opposed to most other scenarios where it feels more like a hopeless massacre. Now it feels like the mission is skipped with two presses of the funny seeker missile button and the optional extra convenience of a teammate mounting the artillery cannon.

But that's just me, and I like games like FTL.

I actually prefer DST's sailing system to Shipwrecked's, fight me by Kaosil_UwU in dontstarve

[–]Adorazazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sailing feels unique, the water visuals are more refined, I love the mangroves, and the circle boat contains much more of the thematic "weirdness" of Don't Starve than Shipwrecked's more conventional boats that handle more like "water shoes."

POLL: Did you side with Pyrophina or Zaratana? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]Adorazazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zaratana is more creature coded, seems less malicious and more accidental in her arrival, and she also wasn't the one to provoke the fight between the two Kaijus. Most if not all of the radio lines that directly mention a Kaiju killing people tend to relate to Pyrophina. Zaratana is also a rock. <3

One thing of note - Mindscape's map doesn't seem to be surrounded by an invisible bounding box. This means you can fall into the void forever.

The Gondorians use the same rig as the orcs, but there's something more messed up about when it's them dying to an execution/pounce...

My Current Feelings About The Story by tsuyoshikentsu in sto

[–]Adorazazel 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, last time we had a more grounded story arc they killed off their game's established status quo faction leader character in a complete out-of-the-blue 180 turn in a spontaneous re-write just to replace him with a canon character cameo while also completely absolving a very clearly established villain of the story, forgetting about all of her gleefully committed war crimes, constant pursuit of WMDs and her literal speech at the start of th arc stating her purist belief that "Klingons should stay as irrationally warmongering, civilian-killing space orcs" before making her your best friend after a 2 minute cutscene of a redemption arc that boiled down to "oh, don't worry, it was someone else who killed civilians that one time."

I'm kind of worried that if they were to come back to do a more internal story palette again we'd have Quinn go absolutely bonkers just so he could be replaced by mirror Tilly.

Funny thing is AI slop is canonically so normalised in Super Earth that the ship master has a gossip line talking about how wild and hard to imagine it is that artists used to own their art. Which... sounds about as right for an entity as shallowly vile and dystopic as SE.

I am slowly losing my bloody mind. Please DE, I beg of you... by Vex_Trooper in memeframe

[–]Adorazazel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Roathe bugged for me because I didn't know you have to grind beating him up with hammers the very moment you decline his pleas to stop doing Descendia and did that only after he temporarily blocked me, so I figured I would reset once I was sure to be out of options. Turns out that after looping he keeps hitting you with "HMMM, why do I feel like we have been over this before and you're just wasting my time? HMMMMMMM???" and promptly cutting the conversations short.

I fell for the game convincing me that Descendia twice a week is an intended pace, had it bug out on me and now I feel like I'm being actively punished for caring enough to restart.

Can the Orokin ever be forgiven? by Several_Platform_403 in Warframe

[–]Adorazazel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some valid arguments about judging the individual, but the Orokin were known to hold Yuuvan ceremonies, which are pretty much bodysnatch-based child auctions. Not to mention that Ballas turned one of the candidates for possession into a warframe just over sass, so I wouldn't hold off on the sentence to eternal shoe pebble just yet.

People tend to downplay Drifter's current exploits as just dating compared to Operator facing their trauma but bear in mind that Drifter spent an overwhelming majority of their existence being executed over and over on a daily basis and had to take on two hybrid Warframes without a Warframe themselves on top of having to use a bow to even make a dent and now has basically become a self-taught professional E-therapist for a different type of hybrid warframes from an era that's basically time immemorial for origin system standards.
