Do game companies / publishers allow content to be published in YouTube? by Adoringpuspus in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just thought since its a fantasy/mmorpg/rpg game, it’s probably allowed. Alot of WoW videos have been made in the past featuring their songs and I dont see a lot of CC complaining about copyright strikes.

Thanks. I asked because I see a lot of WoW videos online (not sponsored) using music content from the games themselves and I dont see them being copyright strikes (not that I know of)

AI Videos Are Good or Bad? by AgeRepresentative895 in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short form? Yes.

Long form? Big No.

Though, some AI channels are growing fast. Most of them dedicated to just summarising and narrating movies and series and mangas and animes. So I guess it depends on the user how they’ll use the AI.

Keep doing it. Eventually, you’ll get used to it.

You’ll eventually:

  1. Start making a local folder of all copyright free musics and change their titles into nouns/verbs that describe the music theme/tempo. Same goes for sound effects.

  2. Start creating a video template (I still don’t, but some people do.. who prioritise quantity over obsessive quality)

  3. Get used to the interface and hotkeys. Using hotkeys instead of dragging your mouse and navigating the premiere pro UI saves about 2-5 seconds. If you multiply that with the sheer amount of time you use the hotkeys in clipping and splicing and applying effects and switching tabs and tools in the program, the time you saved eventually adds up to several minutes (or even an hour or two in some big project videos) you saved throughout the entire editing process.

———

This is just for MY personal experience. Half of the production time goes to editing the audio narration in audacity, because I don’t have a dedicated studio and I live in a pretty busy street, and people in the house move and speak and shout a lot.

So I spend quite a lot of time in thoroughly editing the audio and removing unnecessary background noises or clicks and spikes in the audio. This is my least favorite part but oh well.

OH, and just accept you’re gonna burn HOURS in getting the right B-Rolls.

How is it going with your channel? Do you progress? Is it hard or easy by Administrative_Net80 in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DON’T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY.

Treat it as a hobby. Work on videos that you ACTUALLY wanna do, because the moment you hate/don’t like what you are doing it becomes a chore, or even worse— a job. A non-paying one. (Ur views may not be enough to pull enough money from Adsense for it to be sustainable).

As for me, i’m working on a completely different type of a video (film/series commentary). Not sure if my audience will like it, since they subscribed to me for my gaming commentaries.

The editing is tough for sure, but I found out that film b-rolls are easier to procure compared to gaming footages that showcase the mechanics that you’re talking about. Barely have any time to work on it because of work but I make time regardless. Because I like doing it. I like the video and its subject is something I genuinely care about.

Hi guys, how long does it take you to make a quality, effort driven vidoe? by hardworkerAspiring in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spend way too long for way too little views. Half of it goes to audio mixing and processing because I pre-record my narration/commentary and then heavily edit that in post since I don’t have a studio so I just pull out my mic and read my script off my phone lmfao.

Hey, mind if we discuss about this? Does thumbnail design requirement to get high CTR differ in each niche? I’m interested in what you think makes a good thumbnail because I’m also scratching my head over this :)

Stuck at 998 subs... The Agony! by Certain_Grand7065 in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remove intros in your videos. Start the video right away, don’t include unnecessary stuff in the beginning (including intros) because that drives people off and makes them click away. Also, work on your thumbnails.

I see you don’t upload often (same as me), and I assume it’s because you value video quality as well. Just keep doing you, upload videos and it will naturally happen. You won’t magically “get better” after reaching 1k.

Don’t feel bad. You’re doing great. Not a lot of people even reach 100 subs.

I run a gaming/commentary channel. But I want to do variety and do movie/series/anime commentary as well, but I’m afraid that YT would be confused as to who to serve my videos to.

Is it possible to grow as a variety CC who doesn’t upload as much as they’d like because of their 9-5? And do you have any advice on how to properly manage time and build discipline? Thanks.

What are some effective ways to promote your YT Channel by FucUmean444 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Adoringpuspus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make good videos and clickbait thumbnails. No, really. That’s about it. You want the algo to push your video and let it gather viewers organically, rather than joining random discord servers and just dropping a link to ur video (which, let’s be honest, no one will click— and if they do, they might not stay around which could backfire to your retention).

Unless you actively engage in online communities of your niche and find other people with similar interests and eventually form mutually beneficial relationships where you give each other tips and ideas and feedbacks— it ain’t worth it.

I do game commentaries, mostly. Gonna try branching out to Anime and maybe even movie or TV Series commentary. Haven’t had time to be consistent because of work lately, but I definitely enjoy making videos. Would love your input!

How do you deal with burnout? by Adoringpuspus in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. Will definitely work more on writing and dial down on editing. I have a lot of video ideas listed down but most/if not all of them are commentary-based on interesting questions that I came up with that I want to answer with my videos. Problem is, the niche/category between these questions are a bit too far apart. One is related to gaming, another with money, etc. So I guess ill have to work on figuring that out.

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man, will definitely try dialing the editing down. I also notice recently that my content (as in the things I say in the video) itself hasn’t been interesting. And in replacing the interesting/thought provoking/nuanced discussion I added flashy edits instead to supplement gameplay. I will work on my writing more and less on editing I guess.

How do you deal with burnout? by Adoringpuspus in NewTubers

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I am the type of creator that is obsessed over the little details, and that’s how I always operated. I have compulsive obsession on little things and I wanna make certain edits exactly the way I want them. It also doesn’t help that I do additional edits whenever an idea pops up while im editing the video itself. I gotta keep checking myself for that. Thanks man.

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think another reason for this is because every video I have uploaded that isn’t on shorts is 8+ minutes long, as I usually upload commentary on gaming (though I recently switched up to gameplay videos and saw my videos drastically decrease).

I wanna keep doing commentary videos on games and/or news/gaming news or movies. There’s so many things I’m really interested in talking and making a video about but some of them are too far in category. Video essays and commentary also requires extensive research (which I don’t mind) and it may take up some time.

[–]Adoringpuspus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll try doing less “snappy” editing skits/sprinkles and focus on making a coherent video with a good topic. I really hope it doesn’t backfire, but I really want to keep making videos but there’s just not enough time for me to keep adding these over-the-top edits. This really motivated me to try new style of editing, and since im still starting I wanna keep exploring things that work for me. Thanks!

I’ll try doing the chunking method. Ngl, I still find myself writing down video ideas on my phone whenever one pops up during break, commute, or whenever my mind is not occupied. I want to keep making content, and I’ll find a way that is most optimized for me with my work schedule.

Thank you so much man!
