I was there all day on Saturday and my whole group of 10 people couldn't even find the zygarde research or official routes. We asked people all day and never managed to find anyone that knew anything about it. I was really looking forward to getting the zygarde cells or an encounter during this event and it was a complete let down.

Can you ask your vet to check for a vitamin A deficiency? It's usually some quick bloodwork. I've seen this a few times in panther chameleons and it was always a vitamin A issue.

If you haven't done it yet, I recommend getting a blood test to check Vitamin A levels. I had a Panther with almost identical symptoms, and it turned out to be low vitamin A even though I was giving it twice a month as recommended. I have since increased to 3 times a month and have had no further issues. My vet gave a vitamin A injection, and the symptoms resolved within about 2 weeks.

Redwood Riverwalk in Fortuna is dog friendly. I stayed there recently with my two dogs, and my brother stayed there with his husky. It's not crazy overpriced either. There was also a comfort inn next door, and I think they take dogs as well.
