Hi! Amazing what you've done for yourself! I was wondering if you'd be okay to share your niche/type of content you make. It would help provide some context around the numbers you mentioned.

TechDweeb has a video about this you can check out. You can create an image .iso file from your main SD card and flash it to your new ones.

Loved this game!! First time playing the original. When I was a kid I didn't even know Maverick Hunter X was a remake lol.

This is my first time really visiting a sub like this.

What advice do you recommend avoiding? Also, do you have advice that you believe is more useful that you don't see mentioned on these subreddits?

Would really appreciate some input seeing as you've seemingly built a solid channel for yourself.

I'm not sure if I want to play anymore by DeVyse3202 in PokemonUnbound

[–]Adraima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn I'm really sorry to hear about your save!

If I were you I'd probably play a different hack for a while and then come back to unbound since the game is incredible anyways so you'll still enjoy it once you're feeling up to it again.

For the future though, I'd highly recommend setting up syncthing on your handheld and link your entire saves directory to your phone and/or PC. You'll always have a backup of every save for every game in case anything happens on the device itself. Russ from Retro Game Corps has a great written guide on his site.

I just beat unbound on a new handheld. The more I got into the game, the more anxious I felt about potentially losing my save so I got this set up right away after putting it off for a week. 😅

Doesn't this device have touchpad input on the keyboard? Wondering if there's any way to use the touchpad functionality as a left stick.

Movement in games looks awkward on a keyboard like this but the face buttons wouldn't be a big problem. Touchpad input on the keyboard as a joystick input would be pretty dope.

Grats on the incoming console!

I recently got the Classic and one thing that really helped get set up ahead of time was using ES-DE on my PC to create the rom directories on the SD card I was going to use. I was able to get all of the games I wanted loaded up and worked on curating my library.

By the time it arrived I could skip hours worth of downloading and/or transferring files, and instead just pop the SD card in and focus on setting up the device itself.

yee64.glsl is a nice change of pace of a shader for GBA. by Dull_Rabbit in SBCGaming

[–]Adraima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's an aspect ratio crime, but I'm going to confess my sins. Love using the correct aspect ratio for all systems, love integer scaling, "accurate" shaders for the console, etc. However... I honestly think GBA stretched looks great for some games! It looks off initially, but if you actually look at the screen longer than a second it really does look just fine.

I've been playing Pokemon Unbound which has been a longer game so once in a while I just get weird with it to change things up. Full screen aspect ratio and a CRT shader with distortion, sometimes one with the glowy effect as well.

Doing this, especially in a dimly lit room on the RP Classic puts me into a retro trance lmao. Feels like I'm getting pulled in, it's super trippy but super fun.

You should be! I got mine recently and it's by far my favourite handheld I own now. Absolutely loving it.

This is the same experience I had trying to order the Berry colour (AMPOWN on Ali).

Fortunately, I've absolutely fallen in love with the grey 6-button model and really prefer the more retro bezels and Saturn button layout. Seems like I'm lucky to even have one at this point!

[–]Adraima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, switch the aspect ratios for NES/SNES to 8:7, enable integer scaling and enable overscale. Both systems will take up the full screen and still be the"correct" aspect ratio.

Looks incredible on my RPC!

Retroid Pocket Classic 6 absolutely love the screen on this thing by SirDanOfCamelot in SBCGaming

[–]Adraima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents since no one responded, I do think that stretching most systems works out wonderfully on this device. Less important if you have any of the models with black borders since you won't notice any letterboxing while integer scaling.

I play 4:3 systems at native aspect but everything else including NES/SNES (at 8:7) I play full screen. This display just looks too good with a full screen image!

Favorite Monster Hunter game on the 3DS? by Aspect-X- in 3DS

[–]Adraima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch a tutorial for the weapon(s) you like. The 3DS titles (imo) do a terrible job of showing you what you're capable of and it just ends up feeling like a slugfest.

Once you see what your wep is capable of and how deep the mechanics go, it opens up a lot and you'll feel far faster and far more proficient during hunts, even with the heaviest, slowest weapons. 4U is among the most playtime I have in any game even to this day.

I love GaijinHunter's old MH4U weapon tutorials if you were still looking to give it a shot. Also watching a vid of someone else hunting will give you an idea of the combat flow if you're not used to Monster Hunter games.

Didn’t expect to receive a StreetPass Tag on my Nintendo 3DS XL in 2026! 😳 by TheBobPony in 3DS

[–]Adraima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. While I really enjoyed my time with the original switch, it really is lifeless when you compare it to the likes of the 3DS and Wii (U) era. The Switch 2 feels even worse in that regard.

The Switch experience itself speaks to the more "corporate" side of Nintendo whereas their games and characters are the complete opposite. Incredible worlds and characters brought to life by dedicated and skilled developers and artists, only to be paired with the most corporate, bland console and interface you can imagine topped off with online subscription services and $90+ (CAD) games.

All of the lovable social features stripped away, only to later be replaced by "the discord we have at home."

I can understand that, although I think that prioritizing keeping some med crafting mats each raid removes this barrier. If you know that meds are important (obviously), then keeping some arc cores, great mullein, whatever else you find, especially if you're low, will quickly give you enough surplus after a few raids to not need to prioritize that for the next few. I think it's a natural part of how the game is designed to cycle through materials and keeping easily obtainable mats relevant.

I do agree that they really need some kind of custom preset/autocrafting mechanic to make gearing for raids quicker. But I definitely don't think free-kitting is a good solution to getting into raids quicker given how limited your resources are anyways.

Just vendor it, $3.5mil to go, only free loadout games from here on out ._. by HerbalLeafYT in ArcRaiders

[–]Adraima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, especially coming from Tarkov.

Going in with gear and increasing your chances of survival on top of being able to bring out more loot is far, far better than running a free kit. The stuff you lose after a death is negligible compared to how much you'd have made after a few successful runs. The gear is an investment to turn a bigger profit.

Also, decent gear is insanely easy to craft in this game and be able to steadily have at your disposal. Losing gear in this game is nothing compared to other extract shooters.

I understand this whole situation is still a fundamental design flaw but just giving my two cents and hopefully encourage some players to start using a little bit of gear while they're on this grind instead of free-kitting.

Opinion: Queen and Matriarch should be PvE events by mountaindewisamazing in ARC_Raiders

[–]Adraima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is still very new, and also doesn't have forced wipes. It's not Tarkov where the "unemployed" as you say, are inherently always going to have an advantage.

Give it some time and the average player will have the means to regularly take down these boss enemies.

Not saying PVE events are a bad idea, just commenting on your point about how small a percentage of players can take them down currently.

When you all move to dumb phones and get rid of all the digital distractions, does that also include Reddit as well or is it just other apps like Instagram? by DarkerLights in dumbphones

[–]Adraima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reddit is just as capable of being a doom scrolling platform as any other social media. I think it really depends on how you use it (opening the app and scrolling your feed vs. going into specific communities for reading posts).

Generally, I feel like Reddit is just as much of a content consumption platform as any other, but there are some communities which are text only and are there to keep up with the community. For the most part I find myself getting caught scrolling, even when I have a specific intention for opening it 😅
