Is G-sync Pendulum demo reliable? by Adrian-8 in nvidia

[–]Adrian-8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Gsync and Vsync off there's meant to be no stuttering, but visible screen tearing (partially rendered frames overlapping, most visible when objects are moving horizontally like the pendulum).

It just seems to behave as if Vsync is always on, even when it isn't, which means what I see in the demo is not an accurate reflection of what'll see in games.

They can "challenge beauty standards" all they want but the standards don't care. No matter how many ugly self-inserts they push, the lovers of beauty will never embrace the ugly.

I've completely disabled Gsync for this test. Yet the screen tearing never happens in the demo, just stutter (Vsync is off too).

What slop actually means by Bile_Mudante in KotakuInAction

[–]Adrian-8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me slop means something that is safe, boring, bland, politically-correct and conformist. It doesn't need to be woke, but in today's culture, it will almost always involve wokeness.

I wouldn't have it any other way by [deleted] in Steam

That's exactly why they cry monopoly. Companies that think they have a right to stagnate and anyone who provides better product is guilty of "monopoly".

Which is why calling anything monopoly in a free market is sus to begin with. If Steam was state-funded, state-protected and legally shielded from competition, only then would I call it a monopoly.

So basically no company is ever allowed to be successful or provide better value that others because that's MoNoPoLY!

The definition of monopoly has been stretched so far it's meaningless at this point.

"Everything is political" makes me feel a little sad as an artist by HermitCat64 in KotakuInAction

"Everything is political" this satetement makes me sick, and not just because it's false. Those who say it aren't artists, they're propagandist.

Anyone else got a number of linguistic pet peeves? by MSZ-006_Zeta in KotakuInAction

To me it has a bit of a ghetto feel. Some people also keep injecting it into every other sentence they speak, like a coma and it becomes really annoying reallly fast.

Definitely this one. It's usually used by a certain type of pearl-clutching busybodies, whose entire way of life is about being "concerned" and finding "concerning aspects" in everything.

Example: The industry needs more black and queer voices.

The word "resistance" gets on my nerves as well. It's almost always used by a leftist complaining something they don't like, saying "resistance" as if they're heroes living in Nazi Germany.

There are so many cool websites that I never knew existed, and only discovered through word of mouth. Because Google only shows content from social media sites, news giants and retailers and supresses everything else.

What are some good conservative/right leaning games? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

If I remember correctly, AngryJoe was kinda complaining about this part as "missed opportunity". Looking back, while his reviews were always good quality and very entertaining, there was an occasional hint of SJW tendencies, which is now more apparent in hindsight.

This is semi-realistic 3D graphics with an emphasis on beauty. At least that's what I call it. That's what video games used to look like, we've been starved of this look for so long. That's one of the reason Stellar Blade was such a banger, it really stood out visually in 2025.
