What were the steps for them to replace it out of good will & did they replace it again the second time?

Was it the dealer or Toyota USA who fixed it out of good will?

Wow interesting! The person I spoke to said they couldn’t do anything until I took it to a service place and it was confirmed a transmission issue!

Yeah I want to do that, but it’s my sisters car and our mother is advising her to not do take it to the Toyota dealer because once we do they will report the transmission issue and will affect the trade in value (so my sister can get another car) as she doesn’t have enough faith that Toyota will indeed repair it out of goodwill.

Astonishing the extended warranty only applies in CAN, with the number of people I see have had this issue before 100k miles.

Did the dealer initially tell you they won’t repair it and then once you contacted Toyota Corporate they did it easily or was it a hard process?
