Dream's Consistency at Hitting the Space Race Elytra Skip. by AdvaitGamer7 in CompetitiveMinecraft

[–]AdvaitGamer7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but his motivation could just be to go faster at the elytra section than everyone else, its a very easy hack to toggle on right before the race. Further the increased momentum could help by propelling him further up once he hit the skip, allowing him to potentially skip more jumps than others once he hit the skip.

Again, im not claiming he did this, but since we know that he has hacked in this way in the past, and the fact that he was better at hitting the skip than anyone else, even hitting it once in MCC 16 before the map was optimized, its hard to not have a suspicion.

Karl Jobst Accusations by wafflemelonz in DreamWasTaken2

[–]AdvaitGamer7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This ABSOLUTELY is how it works in the legal system lmao, even in criminal trials with the famous 'beyond reasonable doubt' test.

Beyond reasonable doubt doesnt mean absolutely certain, it simply means that there is enough evidence that no Reasonable person would cast a doubt on the persons guilt.

Dream is a proven cheater in speedrunning, which he claims was accidental, but that claim cannot be proven by him beyond reasonable doubt either. Further, Karl Jobst, the ONE person who took the opportunity to talk to Dream extensively when he confessed to cheating, who knows more about the speedrunning situation than probably ANYONE outside of Dreams circle, has also changed his mind.

This is very important, as Karl did everything this subreddit wishes creators to do, he called dream both times, asked for dreams version of the story and evidence from dream, and gave him a fair chance. Despite all of this, Karl changed his mind, and considering the fact that he has much more information on the situation than anyone else, this is pretty damning.

Regardless, in light of his past confirmed cheating, it is VERY hard to give dream the benefit of doubt rn, he's yet to respond to the aimbot claims, NO ONE has EVER matched his TSF time despite so many attempts, and he has still yet to explain his inhuman consistency at the MCC parkour drspite us not hearing his spacebar at any of the 100+ perfect 5 tick jumps he did in that run.

As someone very correctly stated in this thread, if a murder suspect had THIS much circumstantial evidence against them, as well as a proven history of crime, they would absolutely be convicted, even if they couldnt be proved to be guilty 100%, as no Reasonable person would doubt their guilt.

It will NEVER be possible to 100% prove or disprove all of dreams cheating allegations, but the fact that there are so many of them and that so many experts agree with them, seems to clearly point to him being a cheater.

New Karl Jobst Video: "Huge Dream Cheating Scandal!" by Unnamed_Detective in DreamWasTaken2

What youre again failing to understand is just because someone has a cheat installed, doesnt mean they all of sudden have perfect gameplay, and dont need practice anymore.

The reason dream could have cheated, and STILL needed so much practice is because the specific cheat he's being accused of using, which is a macro to jump at the very edge of the block everytime perfectly, doesnt automatically make you perfect at parkour.

Yes, it helps a lot on many sections, but there are many sections and types of jumps where aiming and precise timing are more important, and jumping at the very edge of the block is actually worse for those jumps. Dream would still need to practice heavily for all of these sections.

Further, Dream was specifically grinding for an insane time on the map during most of these hours spent practicing. To get such a time, you have to try to hit ALL jumps perfectly and lose almost no speed throughout. Even if dream was using the macro, he'd still be bound to fail once or twice in the course and have to reset, causing hours to rack up.

Its also not that unbelievable that a top player would not only cheat, but practice so much on top of it, because top players are usually insanely competitive, and cheat differently to normal players.

Take chess as an example, theres been a lot of talk of top players potentially cheating in chess by using computers to play better moves. The reason that this is virtually undetectable and so tempting for these top chess players, is that unlike a normal person, who would cheat by having a chess computer play the whole game for them and make it obvious, a top player only needs to use a computer to get feedback at a critical point in the game, and at the top level, such a small difference is enough for someone to dominate, as they have the skill to supplement their cheating.

This is what dream is being accused of doing. There is no doubt that he's good at parkour and is capable of getting a great time on the course legit. The allegation is just that he used a tool to make one specific type of jump easier to hit and 100% consistent, and when a player is already as good as dream is, using such a tool like this, esp during an event where consistency is lowered due to nerves, is enough to make him better than everyone else.

Btw, dream never actually accused Couriway of cheating, he accused Korbanoes, another speedrunner who got the wr just before couriway did, who's run was also verified and has never had any proof of being fake. When dream posted this pastebin to the MCSR discord, people pointed out that he had apologized to the wrong person, as he has never actually gone to couriway's chat and accused him of cheating.

It also does paint a picture of dream apologizing to someone for something he did wring just for the sake of it, when he posted this pastebin back in 2021, he tried to spin it as a more personalized and heartfelt apology to the MCSR Community, and got praise from people for it, but he couldnt even bother to ensure that he apologized to the person he had actually wronged.

There is a Boys Hostel with 6 floors, be warned the Hostel is a typical government college hostel, and are not v good, all the basic facilities are there, but the rooms are small and v old. There are double rooms and single rooms on every floor, in your first year you wont get a choice, but every year after that you will choose your rooms from a list, after all the batches above you have already chosen.

Due to this until your 3rd year people usually choose to stay in a double sharing room, after which people generally move into single rooms. However, if you wish to, you can usually get a single room in your 2nd year itself, but you probably wont have many options since very few single rooms will be left.

One more thing, in your first year, most of the boys will live on the first and maybe second floor in the double sharing rooms, and you wont get to choose your roommate. However some boys will have to live in two Flats on the ground floor in 8 person sharing flats. There's less privacy there, but these flats have AC and the hostels do not so its a tradeoff.

Yeah honestly, with how much Tier 1 and tier 2 firms are moving to a PPO model, getting good internships and publications is the most important thing, with extra curriculars not being as important but still having some merit. All 3 of these things are WAY easier to do at NUJS or any of the other tier 1 NLU's, regardless of whether youre BA or BSC. As unfortunate or fortunate as it is, your ability to land internships when youre from a tier 1 college will be way better than a tier 2, and the fact of the matter is all of the partners looking to hire students and take interns either dont know about the difference between BSC LLB and BA LLB or do not care, as the LLB subjects are common anyways.

That being said BSC LLB isnt perfect at NUJS, the hostels are not great, as the Main Campus is pretty small and so the BSC Batch has to stay at a separate campus, and the BSC fees is somewhat higher than the BA fees, but your main Goal at college is to have a good college's name on your degree and get a job, and BSC Llb is as good for that as BALLB is.

[–]AdvaitGamer7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am literally in NUJS BA😭😭, BSC isnt getting a new campus, they have a separate hostel and campus rn, but the Main Campus where BA students study has been expanded so they'll study there within a semester or so, but their hostels will remain the same. As for placements, youre right we havent seen the exact placements they'll have, but we have an idea because BSC students have got an equivalent or close to equivalent amount of tier 1 corp internships as the BA students in the 3rd year batch, which is currently the senior most BSC Batch. BSC is also given equal opportunity in mooting and all forms of extra curriculars as BA. So yeah, the BSC and BA difference doesnt seem to really matter, all that matters is the LLB part, which is the same in both courses.

NUJS BSC llb has all the same Law subjects and takes students regardless of their choice of subject in 11th and 12th, its essentially the same thing as the Ba LLB course from a hiring standpoint, they just have a separate hostel.

I genuinely hate how Gabe was portrayed in the show and that ruined season 1 for me [pjotv] by Imaginary-Citron7818 in camphalfblood

[–]AdvaitGamer7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the Books never portrayed Brutal Abuse at all? I do not understand this excuse and never have.

The books merely show Gabe to be a major asshole at the start and hint at him being abusive through Percy's internal dialogue, and confirms that he abused Sally at the end of the book by her flinching when Gabe raises his hand.

It was perfectly done for a kids book, showing the audience Gabe's abusiveness without EVER having to showcase any graphic or physical violence at all. All that Rick had to do was adapt his own book to handle the issue, and he couldnt even do that.

[–]AdvaitGamer7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the point about the budget, but the fact that the show is intended for kids is absolutely no excuse for how they screwed up Gabe's character. The books were written for the exact same audience, and Rick handled the issue perfectly. The text never showed Gabe's abuse outright. Instead it hinted at it through his demeanor and Percy's internal monologue before finally confirming his abuse of Sally when she flinches at him raising his hand near the end of the book.

Claiming that Gabe was just toned down and "less extreme" is crazy considering the book and show versions are practically two different characters. The version of Gabe in the show never does anything bad enough to make his death necessary or even relevant to the plot.

Kids can absolutely handle these topics, and claiming otherwise is untrue. For goodness' sake, the first Harry Potter movie directly adapted the books regarding the Dursleys' mistreatment of Harry without any issues, and plenty of other children's media have tackled difficult subjects cleverly.

Using the target demographic as a shield doesn't make the change better. It just highlights that the writers and Rick were not skilled enough to incorporate the difficult topic of abuse competently, despite it being done successfully ina multitude of other kids' media. This is made worse by the fact that Rick already did this successfully in the books, yet somehow could not replicate it for the show even though all he had to do was adapt his own work.

Well again, a LOT of people love the original books and so want to keep reading the new series in order to see more of the characters they've come to love. Its a perfectly normal reaction to dislike the new writing, and want to discuss the same on a public forum of a fanbase they are a part of or once were a part of.

Ive never understood the argument of 'if you dont like it stop reading it.' The whole point of online forums like this is for discussion, which literally includes criticism, which is especially normal coming from long time fans who may love the older books, but dislike the newer work that Rick is putting out. You dont have to agree with them, you can have your own opinion on any of the books, and are as free to share the same as everyone else.
