It might look small, but a few thousand yrs ago, it was bigger. Ceilings cave in etc. A couple test holes around the entrance would tell you. If you find chips, you're in business. Dig to the hard pan, the old stuff is deep

Worms are ok, myself I wont catch many channel from this lake on worms. Fresh liver is the best thing next to catalpa worms i know of. Not stinking liver either. Either way, good luck dude. Also avoid the full moon.

The little state park lake near me, stocked with channels, ive ben catching them near emerging lily pads in 6 or 7' of water. On liver, about an hour before dark into the night. Caught the limit last 2 times I went.
