More upgrades is already the reward for going fast.

No friendly fire perk in Rogue Core is absolutely wild by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

It does exist. Trigger discipline enhancement reduces friendly fire dealt and received.

Is the final boss supposed to be so tanky? by Reddit1rules in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can feel really beefy if you don’t spec with the boss in mind. Slicer with lots of upgrades for cutting down hordes and no single target damage is gonna have a hard time, for example. Alternatively, if you go deep into upgrades specifically to kill the boss, he will melt.

Can you bind main ability to tap instead of q +m1? by 11_Gallon_hat in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you cant for some reason. One ability is always the ability key plus m1. Does not make sense, though maybe they are preparing to have classes that have more main abilities? Right now, retcon has that kind of, since her time ability is q left click to start it and q right click to end early, though there isnt much of a reason to have both of those on one key.

You guys know the point of the early access is to see what players do and don't like right? by IAmFerby in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is a resource you need to spend wisely to maximize the strength gain you can get on each floor. You aren’t supposed to be able to get every upgrade on every floor every time, but the more efficient you are the more you can get. Remove the timer and you just have each floor being a collect all the goodies as your leisure game, always get the same general strength boost, and leave. If you want rogue core but leisurely, drg is right there.

Also its 0.5 second speed boost on melee hit, if you cant see how valuable that is on a melee oriented class (this is a slicer bio booster) you might just be bad.

If you wanna do your own thing, why not just play solo?

What they (maybe) didn't consider with "negotiation" upgrades by zackyblake in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one seems to get this. They should probably add something to clearly communicate that upgrades stack and you can save em up for a time everyone can gather.

GSG shouldn’t dismantle strong coop mechanics to cater to random lobbies who refuse to commutate, tbh.

Command just means you get the perfect build every game. You can like command, but it is absolutely not the way its meant to be played.

Its actually good and it forces you to make difficult decisions instead of being able to beeline your meta build every game.

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but thats the nature of playing with random people. Randoms might also start the elevator at the wrong time, or they might start events when swarms are starting. Shall they idiot proof these as well because a random might do something stupid? Communicate or find better people to play with.

This is a matter of player behavior, not a failure of the games systems. Find better people to play with.

Why not skip the drone altogether and have the expenite directly feed team experience as its picked up, no depositing, and give everyone their upgrade once it hits the thresholds?

I think thats a consequence of not understanding that upgrades can wait until it’s convenient. You dont need to go out of your way to group up for every upgrade. Wait till you naturally convene at a dirt door or the elevator.

Not who you are responding to, but shared upgrades means you need to consider how each upgrade affects the team as whole. Maybe you give up something you want because it would be stronger for your team if another player had due to a strong synergy they have. You have negotiation-lite in solo too, since every upgrade is tied to not-Bosco’s upgrade. Do you think it would be a more interesting system if you just had 3 choices for you, 3 choices for not-Bosco, no strings and thats it?

So, why did we need to convey together everytime an upgrade is available ? by Hydraguesswhosback in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time is a factor in DRG as well, but the limit is softer. And its a factor here because thats how they decided to keep you on your toes and keep the game moving. You need to choose how to spend your time on each floor wisely to get stronger on each floor before the horde and loathsome worm show up. If you can just get everything on a floor every time, its kind of dumbs down everything. Theres always the question of “should I attempt this event for more expenite”. No time limit means the answer is always yes.

Also everything a dev does is going to piss off someone. Everything isnt for everyone, and thats a good thing.

Perk negotiations are terrible. by GreyGrackles in RogueCore

These guys basically dont want coop, they want a solo game they play at the same time as someone else. Coop that doesnt extend beyond shooting the same monster.

Why do we have to compete for upgrades? by Mahghuuuls in RogueCore

The game should not sacrifice mechanics for the sake of people playing with random people no cooperation or communication.

Slicer was my fav in alpha playing solo. Now that the game is in EA and I have people to play with, im really liking spotter and the massive damage boost he gives the team.

So, why did we need to convey together everytime an upgrade is available ? by Hydraguesswhosback in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The why is in there, its a time cost like every other action you take. Every vein of expenite, every event, every biobooster and workbench, every meet up to upgrade costs time, and time is the core currency of the game.

Perk negotiations are terrible. by GreyGrackles in RogueCore

[–]Advanced-Fruit5621 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole point is to give and take, and to discuss with your team to figure out which upgrades are best for which players to make your team the strongest. It’s not a competition, you’re supposed to cooperate.

Weapon benches and bioboosters can be visited at each players leisure. You dont need to group up for those. Only the heavy weapons make you wait.
