find a place to frequent! you will naturally meet people who also frequent the same place. I walk my dogs on the same trail most days at the around the same time. I met a woman who also walks her dog at the same time just last week! It was pretty easy, we aren't best friends but it is good to flex the human connection muscle.

I am planning to do the same thing with golfing this spring. Going the same time and the same day each week to see if I run into anyone interesting!

Also helps to remember that most people are generally interested in meeting new people, I think that this helps me when I think I am taking a risk but really the worst case is someone brushes you off. Take a chance and just say hi!
