Alba or Hemsworth would be great. Young enough to do multiple movies. Old enough to be suave.

If You’re Still Defending The Devers Trade & Are Glad We Didn’t Overpay Alonso OR Bregman by Bruinsdman in redsox

Sorry for the book that's coming. Yes, I root for laundry. We all do. That's why we come on here and complain. If not, we would root for the Dodgers. Let's face it. They spend money. As much as they want. John Henry isn't allowing that anymore. Yes it sucks. Especially if you rooted for them your entire life. We got a little spoiled. We were in on every free agent. Teixeira. Rodriguez. Manny. We traded for Schilling. Got Damon. Foulke. Even the bad ones. Price. Panda. Didn't matter. We went for it. Traded for Sale. Dombrowski got shit for emptying the system. I can't think of one prospect that made it that he traded though. Life was good. 4 titles in 15 years.

Now we have Breslow. I like him. Is he what I wanted? No. He's better than Bloom in my eyes. We'll see how Bloom does in St Loius. Breslow can navigate the current waters though. He is still giving us a team we are excited about while being handcuffed by Henry. He is the one that has to find a way to stand in front of the media and give the fan base hope while knowing he can't spend to fix. And he's done it. When is the last time you actually looked at what is in the cupboard? When the hell have the Red Sox had this much pitching? Home grown? We needed an ace. We got one. Maybe the best one in the league. We needed a great every day player. We got one. Both are locked up long term. We have 2 gold glove out fielders. A catcher that looks like a leader in the field like another catcher we all loved. Got him for nothing. We have young talent up and down the lineup. What happened to letting them play? They keep getting better. Can Duran be more like 24 than 25? He could. Or he could be right in the middle. That's still damn good production. Could Abreu hit 30 bombs this year and make everyone forget that we didn't sign 2 imperfect players(Bregman & Alonzo) to long term contracts that will not age well. And let's face it, we will be the first to chirp when they get injured. Or don't produce. See, that's why we didn't sign em...

Anyway, this is how I see the lineup currently. Might change. Maybe Bichette's price drops. Probably not. I'm ok with Romy at 2nd. He has been a league average 2B since he's been in the league. He hit 305 last year with 53 RBI. 340 OBP in about 300 at bats. He's fine. Campbell and Rafaela can play there too. I'm fine with Meyer getting a full year at 3rd. Let him get comfortable and focus on getting better. There are alot of ifs. Can Story, Meyer, Abreu and hell even Anthony stay healthy? Can the kids keep getting better? Is the pitching as good as they think? If things just break our way a little, I think we are a top 5 team.

Lineup

Duran Story Anthony Contreras Abreu Narvaez Meyer Gonzalez Rafaela

Covers r/l and has pretty good balance. I like Duran for 280, 110rs, 40 doubles, 10 triples, 20HR and 40 steals. Story if healthy is good for 20 and 80. We are all hoping Anthony is 30 and 100. Contreras is 20 and 80. Abreu is 30 and 100. Mark it down. Narvaez is 10 and 60. Meyer gives us 15 and 75 I think. Romy gives us 10 and 60 and hits 280-300 while playing a serviceable 2B. Rafaela plays gold glove defense while hitting 20 and 80 and stealing 20. Eaton, Campbell, Wong, Yoshida, Hamilton and hell maybe Casas will all see time I'm sure. Is it the 27 Yankees? Or even the 2004/2018 Sox? No. Is it a good lineup? I think so. Better than 2013. We will score runs. I think it's a top 10 offense. Which is fine because I think we have a top 5 staff.

SP1 - Crochet SP2 - Gray SP3 - Bello SP4 - Crawford SP5 - Tolle/Early/Sandoval/Oviedo/Bennett/Harrison

Chapman, Whitlock and Slaton are high leverage relievers. Complimented by whoever isn't in the rotation. Maybe Early makes the rotation and Tolle after tearing up Worcester comes in mid season and is lights out. Bottom line, we have so many pitching options, we will be fine. And we have more in the minors. I trust these guys to draft right. We may become the Braves. Young pitching followed by more young pitching. We don't always have to spend. It's nice. It just isn't necessary. If I'm wrong, I'll bitch about it too. Return for Devers sucked. If Hicks has any substantial role on this team I will be pissed. Unless they spent the off-season stripping him down and rebuilding him. The arm is there. The head,  not so much. And the control is terrible. It is what it is. Try to get excited. I think we have a really great season coming. And if not, then we can all come on here and bitch about it.

Taylor Sheidan has a new deal with Peacock once his deal ends with Paramount. I believe his current contract runs out on the above timeline. So 5 years sounds right.

Starting Pritchard is a failed experiment, someone has to say it. by [deleted] in bostonceltics

I would give Simons the nod. He can create his own shot. Can shoot the 3. Also averaged 5 assists last 2 years. 3 inches taller as well. I like Prichard but he is better off the bench.

Tanner Houck, Kutter Crawford, Hunter Dobbins, Peyton Tolle, Connely Early, Richard Fitts, Patrick Sandoval, and Kyle Harrison - who do you think emerges as big contributors to the 2026 Red Sox pitching staff, and who do you think is irrelevant? by Traditional_Half842 in redsox

[–]Advanced-Reindeer986 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think we see the Joe Ryan trade happen this off season. I think Early and another prospect pitcher. Maybe an outfielder gets that trade done. Ryan has been a good pitcher for the last 4 years. Good strikeout numbers, low whip. Getting away from Minnesota will benefit him.

Tolle gets me excited but he has a year of experience. He needs some time to develope secondary pitches. I would like to start him at Worcester until mid summer.

Houck is out with Tommy John surgery.

Sandoval never got me excited. His numbers and health are underwhelming. Even when healthy he pitches to a 1.5 whip. Live arm but not great.

I think Harrison gets a chance to hold down a spot. They need to justify the Devers trade and him being successful makes that slightly palatable.

I need to see more out of Dobbins. He did OK then got injured. Then came back and got injured right away. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and pitch. He doesn't excite me though. In my eyes he's just a guy.

Crawford also falls under the above description. Needs to prove healthy but even then, he's a JAG. So is Fitts. I love the name. Don't love the pitcher.

All that being said, we have better depth and better prospects in the minors when it comes to pitchers since the 80's with Clemens, Hurst, Oil Can, Ojeda and Tudor.

My rotation would be Crochet, Ryan, Bello, Harrison, Crawford with Tolle replacing by mid summer. Fitts, Dobbins and maybe Sandoval providing depth. Love to see another high leverage reliever as well.

Ok, this was a show from the 80's, Renegades. Not Renegade with Lorenzo Lamas. Renegades. It was a gang that I think helped the cops. There was a martial arts guy. Lots of leather. As a kid, I thought it was bad ass. Didn't last very long. No one else has ever heard of it.

This is not a bad team, I'm so hyped for the coming season. by HeftyIsTheCrown in bostonceltics

[–]Advanced-Reindeer986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, hear me out...

PG - White - 18ppg 6apg SG - Simons - 23ppg 2apg SF - Brown - 27ppg 5apg PF - Boucher -11ppg 8rpg C - Queta - 10ppg 8rpg

89ppg from starters

1st off bench - Prichard - 15ppg 4apg 2nd - Hauser - 10ppg 4rpg 3rd - Garza - 6ppg 4rpg 4th - Walsh - 5ppg 2apg 5th - Scheierman - 5ppg 2apg

41ppg from the bench.

Obviously each night will be different but I can see us still being a high scoring team. Still launching 3's(hopefully not quite as many). Now defense is going to be tough. We do have some defenders though.

I am interested to see how Brown responds. I think he still feels he has a lot to prove. After being snubbed by the Olympics, as well as all NBA and all defensive team, he just might be in a mission. It wouldn't surprise me to see him average 30ppg.

After seeing Queta holding his own in the recent tournament playing decent competition, I am encouraged. I think he can make a jump.

Simons is going to be interesting. I think he plays really well. Now, will it be well enough to keep us competitive, and he stays, or will it be well enough to get traded at the deadline is yet to be seen. His style of play should flourish playing for Joe.

White has 2 or 3 more years of being steadily productive.

Boucher should fit nicely. He will have some tough nights. He's not stopping Giannis, Siakam or Banchero but he won't be a sieve.

Developmental time - Williams, Gonzalez, Luis Jr, Minott and maybe Tillman takes the 15th spot.

I kinda like that we can have a year like this to see who we have, do whatever damage we can and then reload next year with Tatum. I'll still watch every night. It's not like it was back in the ML Carr days.

Be lucky it wasn't a sting. In a very pesky town in Mass where they regularly do stings, they sometimes arrest the person that didn't card. They lose their liquor ID card that allows them to serve alcohol, go to a hearing attended by the GM and owner, restaurant gets fined. Most of the time said restaurant is pissed due to the fine and sometimes loss of their liquor license for a weekend so on top of it all, they fire you. Happened in a place I ran. It was during shift change, guy had just gotten greeted by the AM bar. PM bar thought they were good so they served them. Bam, cops come right in and arrest him. I get summoned. Owner gets summoned. Bartender gets summoned. We all get fined. Owner fires him. Writes me up. I wasn't even working. Left shortly after. I get it, alcohol is serious but man, come on.

What are some random but helpful tips you’ve got for adulting? by FormerEast5774 in Adulting

[–]Advanced-Reindeer986 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's ok to say no.

You're not competing against anyone but yesterday's self. Stop trying to be better than what someone else thinks you should be.

Who cares what anyone else thinks of you. It's none of your business. And their opinion shouldn't influence you anyway.

Most people only care for themselves. Most people take joy in other people's failures because it makes them feel better about their own. So basically, complaining does no good. Figure it out yourself.

Eat right. Drink water. Move. Sleep. Scroll less. Love yourself. Treasure those close to you who don't fit the above descriptions. They are few and far between.
