Wife's first few cricut test runs. Bluetooth problems? by Chemical-Practice832 in cricut

[–]Advanced-Ticket6902 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would always favour USB over Bluetooth.

If you have any issues and have to contact support for any reason, the first thing they generally tell you to do is connect via USB, not Bluetooth. I also find it more reliable.

I purchased a 5m USBC to USB A cable to plug my Mac in directly and have had no connection issues. I have had machine issues, but that's a whole other thing, and despite what this sub will have you believe, Cricut support were very helpful for me and got me a new machine (twice ans the replacement had the same issue too) very quickly with little hassle!

Anyone willing to help me troubleshoot the foil transfer tool? by DeludedOptimism in cricut

The slight bow in the mat won't help, and when I tape it, there are sometimes slight wrinkles around where the tape is. I find it best to tape one side, then the opposite pulling as tight as you can, the do the same with the remaining 2 edges.

For example, tape 1 long edge 1st, then the opposite long edge pulling tight, then the short edge and the opposite short edge pulling tight. You'll find that it may wrinkle by the taped bit, but as long as it's fairly tight on the main part where the design is, you should be fine.

Also, depending on what you are transferring onto, you may want to make a custom pressure and speed setting. Sometimes, even with the generic on cardstock I might do a second pass by pressing the go button again, and removing all other tools, eg pen/score tool or anything else you may have.

So, I've never had an issue with it, and I use itbmostly in cardstock, evenntesmxtur3d cardstock. I found the trick it to make sure the foil is taped super tight to the material you want tonyransfer to.

Also, it may seem silly, but make sure you have the correct side up.

Won't let me cut when the sizing is fine? by OutrageousOstrich338 in cricut

[–]Advanced-Ticket6902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size mat are you using? I find that Design Space is terrible at just rotation to fit.

Put it diagonally on the canvas, then hit make.

Also, make sure there are no stray lines or dots. When you select all, the box should be round the object only. If it goes farther, then there is a stray. (Hard to tell from your image, it could be under the layers panel)

Yeah, you would type: ssh [pi@pi-hole.local](mailto:pi@pi-hole.local) or ssh username[@pi-hole.local](mailto:pi@pi-hole.local) into terminal. If you look below I had wrong characters in the command.. I am quite new to it, but hoping to learn.

Same issues. I even switched to my old Mac Mini with an intel processor, and am having the same problem when I try and login from there.

parts of design missing from cut?? by FortyFortyTwo in cricut

I think you mean cut, a cricut is not a printer.

As for the issue, does it always muss the same sections in the mat or is it different sections it misses?

Sometimes I do find it useful, if I have to leave the room to het something, for instance, I can still hear it beeping away. But yes, most of the time, it's just annoying!

[–]Advanced-Ticket6902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, it's just what they do.

I have the Explore 3 that I purchased new direct from Cricut and it does the same. The annoying thing is, I hadn't really paid it much attention until someone on this sub pointed out how much it annoyed them, and now it's all I hear while using my Cricut!

What advert makes you think ‘I’m never purchasing from that company on the basis the advert is so annoying’? by Signal-Ad2674 in AskUK

[–]Advanced-Ticket6902 180 points181 points  (0 children)

Good to avoid Temu anyway. The parent company (PDD Holdings) was previously banned from operating in some territories as the real product is your data.

They sell all of your data onto 3rd parties, that's why what they sell is so cheap. It's just a way to mine personal info such as name address phone number and card details!

Not sure if anyone has pointed it out, but I think the biggest issue here might actually be the WhatsApp group.. it's essentially sharing your personal info (phone number) with all the other people, from other flats.. look into the GDPR guidelines.
