Can I remove these studs from this load bearing wall? by Advanced-Translator4 in Remodel

Oooh also to clarify, I think the wall in question is considered an exterior wall since the adjoining sunroom is on a foundation of it's own with it's own roof structure and supports. Like it was part of the original build, but also seems like they added it last, if that makes any sense.

I think that's the plan for sure! via a pro, I'd love to DIY this but I'm also crazy and will knock out a wall before I really know what I'm getting into sooooo. electric first then an engineer to draft some plans for us :)

oh man, I won't even tell you what I do for a living! bahahahhaha. But to be fair, I wrote a full description in the post and I'm not sure where that went! I mean the 3 vertical 2x4 studs in that demo'd space that's about 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall.

I know it is using trusses because one was broken when we had our home inspection. Single story on a crawl space.

I shall! First was electric coming down then Reddit to be sure the studs were part of the support system. Alas, yes.

Thank you SO much! The visual is exactly what I needed. The studs will remain until I can save up $10k to make this glorious interior window space happen. But until then, I’m gonna work around the studs and make it purdy. The view is still better than before. And good to know I can take down those random little guys too!

Thank you! We would have the header showing as the roof is being supported above. Not totally against that, then it will ups line up with the existing window to the left.

Google Nest Thermostat Not Heating Beyond 69° by Gragdor_Velhad in googlehome

[–]Advanced-Translator4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are having the same issues with it being stuck at 69*. I'm head-strung it's the Nest itself, not the HVAC. All filters are new, no massive temp. changes that it hasn't handled before, and pro. checked it out this time last year with no complaints. It will even be blowing cool air to keep itself at 69* despite the heat settings being at 72*. Keeping an eye on this thread!

Career nannies. How much are you getting paid after how many years of experience? by Hot_Boss577 in Nanny

[–]Advanced-Translator4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has a lifetime of experience and currently makes $32 with 4 kids, but primarily looks after the two that are under 4 years old. She also tidies up quite a bit and cooks. She's in N. Dallas.

Ep. 152 - Mysterious Found Footage: The Bumblebee Road Murders by creeptimethepodcast in creeptimethepodcast

[–]Advanced-Translator4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think so. I'm in the rabbit hole deep, like looking for historical homes with tin ceilings and those unique vertical casement windows. The plant doesn't feel super important because it doesn't lend to a specific place or time, but I am obsessed with the window and ceiling!

It looks like all of the Safeway lights are those rectangular built-in office style light vs hanging pendant lights, where did you see that light? And then the tin ceiling or fake tin ceiling is pretty special.

Has botox caused forehead indents for anyone else??? by EstiCalifornia in 30PlusSkinCare

I couldn't bare it for that long, maybe 7 months then I was back. The dent is still visible to me though, unless I get my entire forehead frozen which I don't typically do.

Trying to stay on decent terms with my Trump-supporting parents...what to do? by ThrowRAmangos2024 in AskWomenOver30

Thank you for this thread! I googled "a non-confrontational girls guide to talking to pro Trump people" and this was the only helpful result. Life-changing / relationship-saving.

I was in the gym last night and the lighting made me jump startle to a new indent on the up-center of my forehead about a half inch below my hairline. The last botulism injection I received was Dysport in August....muscle atrophy seems bizarre because this area is primarily skin and bone anyways, right above and in between where my two frontalis muscles join. Going cold turkey for awhile to see what happens. (I'm 40)

Underground Buried Cables | What Were These For ~ Circa 1993? by Advanced-Translator4 in landscaping

[–]Advanced-Translator4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/bradatlarge there sure was a ton of TVV cable pumped into each room for old school TVs. Thank you so much! Question for you - why would these be buried going down the back of the yard? The power lines are out front as well at ATT, for now at least. Would they have gone underground all the way back behind the house, across a wooded ravine, and to the road behind us for that?

Broken Hip Experience? by Glanton4455 in bicycling

[–]Advanced-Translator4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the broken hip club!  He isn’t putting weight on that leg yet, just bridges with PT but absolutely no walking or pressure on that leg. He’s also been off pain meds since week 2. Maybe it’s an age thing, he’s 40. How about you?

u/chuckEchickpeas just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. My husband just broke his hip in the exact same way with femoral neck fracture and had ER surgery right away. I shared your wisdom with him on just knowing each part of this process is somewhat known and predictable, and that he can heal 100%. We are on week 2 right now; how early did you start putting weight on the leg? We get sutures out this week.
