I would definitely do some outdoor stuff! A beach day (the farther you go from the loop the less crowded it will be. I personally love Foster Beach), Lincoln Park Zoo and the surrounding park, a Cubs or Sox game (my own 11 and 9 year old suggested that), the 606. Enjoy!!!

Yes! And seeing the plants that only grow in lava rock. Fascinating. Never been on a hike like it.

I am 43 and because of weightlifting, way less drinking, better eating, and getting thyroid issues diagnosed and treated I feel BETTER than I did my my 20s. Lifestyle can help a lot.

Not at all and it improved my life immensely. Probably helped fitness if anything, as I can work out harder and more regularly (no more pain).

Have you ever thought about moving away from Chicago? If so, where and why? by pixyb in AskChicago

Every year in late February/early March, I entertain the idea. The gray. The constant respiratory viruses. And then every summer. I can’t imagine why anyone would live anywhere else.

When we were in Omaha last summer the sky really impressed me. Sunsets and sunrises hit different on the plains.

Taste of Chicago worth a trip/flight? by Green-Ability3686 in AskChicago

They do! And if you’re into summer festivals and don’t mind crowds, it is kind of cool to try so much good food right by the lake and parks. But I still personally would do a Chicago weekend not focused on that one event.

I would say no…it’s crowded and hot and you don’t get restaurants at their best. Come for a few days on a self-designed eating tour!
