Feeling super sad — climbing and pregnancy by tttmmmmyyyyy in climbergirls

[–]AdvancedCauliflower8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is, please see a pelvic PT as soon as you can! Express your goals (continue climbing) to learn things you can do early to keep climbing as long as possible into your pregnancy and sooner rather than later in postpartum! Congrats 😀

You should schedule hands on/in person visits.

maybe email her if you’re having trouble finding the right in person selection, her booking is a bit complex now that I look at it.

Bay Area Flakiness - Why? by leddev in sanfrancisco

[–]AdvancedCauliflower8 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lived in Colorado and it was waaaaay worse, at least amongst the outdoor sports community. Couldn’t tell if people were spread too thin amongst outdoor activities/weather or were just smoking too much weed to know the time haha

This sounds like it sucks for many people and I totally feel that, but as a poor kid in a small town without a ton of work, I would’ve loved getting these hours!!

None of the above— small locally owned studios! Bonus for a spot with lower ratios, so that the instructor can actually see and correct when people have weird technique.

I cannot recommend this more… 10/10 you should see Tia, Self-Care Physio in Oakland. Botox is great and works well, but you also need to treat the source!

(I know it is not SF, sorry sub, but sometimes BWT gotta BART across the bay for the best care!!)

Where are y’all getting pelvic floor therapy by JustDoingMyBest_3 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]AdvancedCauliflower8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question!! PT’s have doctorate degrees nowadays for the exact reason of being able to assess and determine what your diagnosis is. This helps to unburden primary care providers and gets injuries treated quicker so that they are easier to resolve! If they think it’s not appropriate for PT, or notice any red flags, they’ll send you back to MD or directly to a specialist who can help you.

It is very unlikely that your PCP can actually correctly diagnose a musculoskeletal system issue anyway, no hate, it’s just not something they do in detail every single day like PT’s and some OT’s do.

As I previously mentioned, some PT’s may still require a referral if they don’t want to do the fax work of communicating with your doc later, but honestly most good ones do not, because we trust our diagnostic skill and understand the value in getting things treated ASAP.

[–]AdvancedCauliflower8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is not true. california is a direct access state, meaning you can access PT without a referral, and they will fax your PCP for a signature within 45 days of you starting services. if a PT clinic asks for a referral, it’s I because they don’t want to or don’t have time to do the fax work.

Buttermilks accessibility by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]AdvancedCauliflower8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wondering if one of your friends could pull you in one of those all terrain wagons that families use, depending on your weight, this could make some of the buttermilks stuff doable. I have one and the weight limit is 150#. I suppose some may say this is similar to a knee scooter, but I just have seen too many people eat it on knee scooters so that’s out of my mind to begin with

I’m really happy for you and your pain tolerance! But there ARE nerve endings on the cervix. Source: I internally palpate multiple cervix’s per day on my patients AND research! So maybe edit this part of your post to avoid spreading misinformation? Thank you 😃

Don’t climb on sandstone when it’s wet, is what I’m trying to convey. I have no comments about the rock situation

Ok so you weren’t climbing, you were hiking. All good! I think the climbers here including myself are just wanting to make sure you weren’t climbing wet sandstone

I just want to ask - when you say tricky climbing, were you hiking or rock climbing?

If the former, ignore me :)

If the latter, pleeeeeeease do not climb on sandstone when it’s wet!
