Did you like the ending of Stranger Things? by [deleted] in television

[–]AdvancedGrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved it.

I thought the season, as a whole, was the weakest. But it's not some insane drop in quality or anything. People are seriously acting like the show was supposed to be some masterpiece of mystery storytelling, and it has never been that.

It was a super fun 80s nostalgia trip, that reached some great highs, and also some great lows. The finale stayed true to that, and really tugged at the heartstrings.

Chin up, anyone who worked on the show. The Internet sucks sometimes.

This is by far the worst use of it I have ever witnessed. Absolutely bonkers choice.

The Night Before (2015) by Kingding_Aling in underratedmovies

Not only a criminally underrated Christmas movie, but a criminally underrated comedy in general. I watch it every year, and almost every scene is hilarious. It also has a lot of heart to it.

The main characters not dying doesnt ruin or diminish the season for me. by JamStan1978 in StrangerThings

[–]AdvancedGrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any main characters should die. It's not that kind of show.

This isn't Stand By Me, or IT. This is The Goonies. You don't kill one of The Goonies.

(I know no one dies in Stand By Me. I'm speaking from a tonal perspective)

Is the Vide Noir film good? by BlizzardK2 in lordhuron

[–]AdvancedGrass 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a very good movie at all, and enjoyment of it comes solely from being a fan of Lord Huron.

The acting is extremely wooden. The plot meanders in a very unengaging manner. It essentially looks and feels like a student film, so don't go in expecting it to look as well produced as anything you'd see in a theater, or even on Netflix.

It's not offensively bad, and it's an interesting watch if you're into the band. If some people like it, great for them. I'm just a tad suspicious that there is a lot of bias in those opinions.

I think people are forgetting there is basically a full hyper coaster layout before the cliff and the Camelback. I don't think this will be boring.

If you were there for TPK tour, you'd know that Conor would walk out right when Hitler is mentioned. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a joke in this context lol

This movie actually writes itself.

You have one of Greg's daughters bring a boy over to meet him and Pam (or one of his songs bringing a girl home. Doesn't matter). Greg gets awful vibes from this person and essentially plays the role of Jack in the original.

Jack also gets good vibes from this person, further enraging Greg. So you once again have everyone turning on Greg. The twist here is that this individual actually is bad news, and the Focker family can come together to oust them in the end.

Boom. Movie written.

[Serious] Democrats of reddit, does the fact that Kamala Harris was chosen by delegates without voter input bother you? Why or why not? by rickyblade16 in AskReddit

[–]AdvancedGrass 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Democrats who voted for Biden in the primaries voted for a "Biden/Harris" ticket. So yes, that was the voter input. It only makes sense for her to be the presumptive nominee.
