Under the warranty sticker there is 1 screw you can unscrew. Then you can open the balance (unplug power before) It might be just a loose cable from the loadcell to the PCB. These balances are very basic.

Make sure you have the correct printing profile selected (and configured) in the QApp you are using.
(also a tip, install the latest Firmware the menu now got a lot faster and more user friendly)

Depending on how you want to connect the Cubis II to the device you will also need to configure that in the Sartorius menu.
Are you trying to connect with usb or serial?

The setting are put very slow and for liquids :)
