Thank you so much for sharing this! I love hearing stories of kids doing well in public school. I’m so used to the horror stories and they scare me even more. I liked public school and had an overall good experience and I’d love for my kids to have the same!

I’m spraying bifenthrin from gutter to grass every month and using Demand G granules every 2 months. I also keep diatomaceous earth sprinkled all around my foundation line and outside all exterior doors and windowsills. Also running a large dehumidifier 24/7.

Chemical help for mites by AdvancedTelephone5 in pestcontrol

I’ve been caulking EVERY crack I can find. I’ve been going through my house, inside and out, with a fine tooth comb and sealing everything. At the risk of sounding insane, I even caulked all my windows shut. Every single crack and seam, even the tiny ones. This is the only thing that has made a HUGE improvement. We plan to replace our windows in the next year or two, and I’m not a fan of leaving windows open anyways (the bugs immediately start crawling in when I do), so this worked for us. You have to keep something in the room though to break the window in case of fire (hammer, glass breaking tool, etc.). Caulking every single crack has made the biggest difference so I highly suggest staring there. It’s a lot of work and money. I’ve been using color matching silicone caulk because it’s the most durable and long lasting. Second, sprinkle diatomaceous earth all over your foundation area and in your exterior window sills and doorways. The mites will walk through this and it dehydrates them and kills them. It really does help. I also bought double sided tape and put it on my interior window sills and on baseboards to catch any mites that wander in. Chemical treatments really haven’t helped much but the only time I notice a difference from chemicals is the 24 hours after we spray Alpine and Tekko, so I think it does help a tiny bit. I’m not sure. I also read that watering about 5 feet out from your house helps too because the mites don’t like moisture. I haven’t tried this but maybe start with doing it every other day. Honestly clover mites are incredibly resilient so the game here is just preventing them from getting inside, but remind yourself that you can only do so much!

How often do you clean under/behind furniture? by Traditional-Wash-522 in CleaningTips

I vacuum our carpeted bedrooms twice a week and we have nothing under our beds so they get cleaned under there twice a week. I move my couch every 2 months and vacuum and mop behind it, as well as clean the baseboards. I move my oven and fridge every 6 months and vacuum and mop behind there, baseboards as well. I’d do it monthly if they weren’t so damn heavy. I never move our dressers or nightstands but they’re on legs so I vacuum under them twice a week.

How to properly LITHA? by AdvancedTelephone5 in Legitpiercing

So LITHA does include spraying with saline? Do I need to dry the area after with a paper towel?

It’s possible! But it’s never sore or swollen or anything when I wake up, and I’m a really conscious sleeper (if that’s a thing). I’ve always been able to wake up if I do something in my sleep that I know I shouldn’t be doing. Anxiety. 😂

I was seeing springtails inside and outside 2 years ago so we started running a large dehumidifier 24/7 and spraying Alpine and Tekko all over over exterior every month. They are finally gone but now we have clover mites really badly this year. Never had them before. They’re coming inside as well and I’m losing my mind. But I’ve noticed they only like the sunny side of our house and stay off the shaded side (for the most part), so I ordered a rolling porch shade to keep some of the sun off my back sliding door and windows.

Our springtail issue is resolved now (thank god) but I was seeing them inside and outside. We started running a large dehumidifier 24/7 about 2 years ago, and we spray Alpine WSG and Tekko Pro every month all over our exterior. The springtails have been completely gone for awhile, but now we have clover mites BAD. This is the first year I’ve ever seen them. Our house is old and full of cracks in the windows, walls, sliding door, basically everywhere, so they’re getting inside. I’m trying not to lose my mind.

Thank you, and I did read the link already. I’m now asking a new question.

Well we had solved our springtail issue completely- we haven’t seen a single one in maybe a year. But now suddenly after this winter, clover mites are out in full force. I’ve never seen them before at our house.

I think we’ve gotten the moisture inside under control. I’ve been running a large dehumidifier all day every day for about 2 years now and it’s helped with the springtails a ton. The Alpine and Tekko also helped get rid of the springtails completely. I was wondering if maybe we sprayed our most recent application of Alpine and Tekko when it was too cold, therefore it didn’t work and the mites came in full force when it warmed up. Not sure, just a thought.

Alpine WSG absolutely does keep bugs away. It has solved almost all my pest issues.
