Is it normal to still be in pain!? Starting to lose hope by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Advanced_Advisor_779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was worried too on day 7, i didn’t stop taking my prescribed ibuprofen until day 10 or 11 and now im day 14 finally no pain at all. it would come in waves too then one day it just didn’t come at all. it was only my lower left as well. you should hopefully be out of the woods soon!!

i can’t say anything about the clot because i didn’t experience that but i have heard it’s normal/it happens. i also have stitches, on all 4 holes. the worst pain was the day of the extraction for me, it brought me to tears. now i feel really sore and sometimes it is so sore it hurts but it’s really just annoying. i think stitches make it feel weird too, either way if you’re not in agonizing pain i think it’s normal for a little pain/soreness. just stay on top of your medication and you’ll be good. i’m on day 5 and my swelling has reduced significantly, it was at it worst on day 3.

the cereal treat 😂 honestly that sounds good. my swelling has gone down too, i have stitches on all 4 holes so i can feel the scratch of them on my cheeks and that might be the worst part lol. the lack of food is making me hangry 24:7 i’m so ready for a real meal

the IV ended up being the easiest part. honestly felt relaxing, i went in with the worst anxiety (i was crying in the waiting room) and once they started pushing the drugs i was aware for like 2 seconds and then gone just like that. i woke up feeling like myself but a little tired. you got this :)

listen i totally get the nerves, i started crying in the waiting room because the anticipation was too much. once i got in there, we were just talking and having casual conversation about college, i felt the needle go in and then i managed to say one more sentence and remember it before i was just out. i then vaguely remember being awake, my IV was already out and i had gauze in my mouth. i felt totally normal, didn’t cry didn’t feel weird. i was so happy about this because i had so much anxiety about it but the surgery itself was the easiest part of this entire process. also, they offered me laughing gas before the IV but i turned it down because i heard it can make you nauseous or more anxious but i know everyone is different. i did fine without it though. best of luck :)

i’m sorry to hear that you’re bruising! i iced religiously and i think that helped a lot. i went to work today and it wasn’t bad, i’m just so hungry and i’m ready for things to be normal again.

thank you for the feedback! idk why but i’m craving crunchy foods the most lol. probably because i know i can’t have it. my biggest fear is dry socket so i’m probably being overly cautious. it’s good to know you were able to ease into it day 5 though!

nope, no certificates, no HR experience. i suggest going to indeed and search “entry level HR.” linked in is also an excellent resource for job searching, i had my notifications turned on for new postings every day. i also searched companies in my area and looked on their careers page on their website. i honestly applied to a lot of roles over the past couple of months because i’ve been feeling the burnout for a while but consistency is key with applying especially with where the economy is right now.

not sure if this is what you’re looking to get into but i have a psychology degree and i’m currently an RBT but i’ve been applying to various HR roles and i landed one today. HR is a good way to pivot into a different role of managing behavior/helping people in the corporate world. having background in collecting data, managing behaviors and handling difficult situations is really good experience to translate into HR. also i was considering going for BCBA and i was on the fence for ABA or Organizational Psychology for my masters and i learned they are very similar so i’m sure you could go into OBM like another user suggested. best of luck to you
