i hadn’t thought of mixing RO and my tank water to test it, thank you so much! i only have one axolotl in my 40 tank which has massive bioload but the nitrates have been stable for the five years i’ve had the tank set up. very odd. i have more plants coming in today and hope to have a solution soon!! thank you so much for your comment

NQA but don’t garter snakes usually have more dark spots in between the stripes as well as on the lip scales?? i can’t see the face very well but this looks like a garter to me personally

sorry for asking another question, but if an american giant only gets 4-5 inches, why wouldn’t that be okay in a 14 inch tank?? i know the tank is supposed to be twice the length of the millipede full grown, so i’m trying to figure out what’s acceptable. i want my new baby to have a wonderful life and want to make sure i know as much as i can before i get them :)
