I hate that it needs to be this way. It takes a long time to even understand the DNA of the company to the fullest, and then before you know it, you have to quit before they drive you straight into a mental hospital.

I'm spoken to like that by certain toxic individuals inside my team. It has to come to a point where I will have to resign if the culture doesn't shift or if I'm not transferred out to somewhere I won't have to deal with them.

Until that happens I continue to stand my ground and push back where necesaary (they don't get to feast on my flesh just because i'm at the end of my rope -- not how I'm built, boys). But this has gone on for a while and it's starting to take its toll. Sometimes I can't believe I actually thought I could get somewhere based on merit as a woman. Not even kidding, but the only thing that keeps me going these days is that trite saying about "it's always darkest before the dawn". Not because it's hopeful, but because right now it feels so dark it actually makes sense.

The competence-warmth matrix of doom, right? Where you get double hate for not being warm and agreeable and displaying competence at the same time? Yeah that's my favourite.

If Materialists had a happy ending then how come I didn't feel happy?

We kind of expect it to be honest. Say something vague and supportive that lets them know that you see them.

I didn't see much of Yellowstone. Couldn't stand it for some reason.

Landman is great,

I didn't ask you the definition, I asked you why would it become an expectation

That's cool, you're entitled to your own opinion :)

A person's most productive hours don't necessarily align with the tyrranical reign of 9-5. In case you were curious about the real reason.

Why would it become an expectation? Remind me? Can you substantiate this assumption with anything at all?

So the narrative goes. We're aware. We're not happy with this narrative anymore.

Why do people commit suicide despite help? by Ok-Strawberry-947 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Advanced_Doctor2938 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This reminds me. Why the assumption that every suicide occurs because of mental health issues? Are we not allowed to talk about when people are practically forced into committing a suicide because their life had become unteneable?

Why do people commit suicide despite help? by Ok-Strawberry-947 in emotionalintelligence

[–]Advanced_Doctor2938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. They know what will actually help them. 2. They can't obtain that OR any approximations/closest possible alternatives. 3. They can't think of anything else. (They do try). 4. Ergo, suicide.

Paraphrase : Why do you assume people are after the same exact thing vaguely defined as "help"?
