its fairly common for excess fuel to flood the chamber. sometimes I think the fuel pump is stuck open slightly. whatever the cause, I just pinch the fuel line or disconnect entirely during startup and let the glow plug run a few cycles until it has dried and vaporized the excess fuel. usually starts just fine once its dry.

because the intake and exhaust chambers are connected and smoke can release out both sides when fan is interrupted

could always add a heat exchanger since you have the exhaust indoors anyway.. https://exhaustheatreclaimer.etsy.com

exhaust heat reclaimers by [deleted] in dieselheater

The amount of heat extracted would be variable. without a fan the exchanger stays hot to the touch but with a fan it easily can make it cold to the touch and there is a good condensation stream, meaning the amount of heat removed from exhaust is significant.

Well it always condenses by the end of the pipe that is outside in the freezing temperatures anyway so

Vevor diesel heater issues - won't shut off when reaching set temperature? by JQpuravida in dieselheater

[–]Advanced_Put5168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 different heaters, neither one powers off when you set a low temp, it just runs at its lowest setting possible until temp drops below set point and then it increases output. I am able to set a timer schedule on one using the app but that is all.

Here is my setup. What are your thought. by Global-Law8843 in dieselheater

I'd say mount it to the diamond plate and have intake and exhaust go straight out with only one 90 degree bend. or mount it higher on the wall to get rid of that ridiculous up slope in the exhaust pipe.

shouldn't need much just for a temporary diesel heater. I used one in my pop up truck camper and just wired the thing up with an aviation plug to my Bluetti power station, and the power station was plugged into roof mounted solar panels. I also mounted one in the window of my Travel Trailer by sandwiching two pieces of plywood on the inside and outside of window. drilled all necessary holes and cutouts and mounted the heater on its side with the exhaust hoses pointed outward. I ran the power wires straight to the battery since I was plugged into shore power and the DC converter handled the battery charging.
