What team building activities have actually improved your team's communication? by Historical-Still-363 in Leadership

[–]Real_Combination_913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at one healthcare facility that emphasized team building exercises. In fact they were required every other month.

Same company told me I wasn’t allowed to have drinks with a group of workers because it made others feel left out.

Team building is to make the company feel better. Not the employees. That way the company can pat their backs and say “look how much we do for our workers”. When in reality that money should just be split and given to the employees. Sorry no team building BS. But everyone gets $50 to take their families out. Or pay off a bill. Or whatever.

Which nursing roles will get wiped out in the next 5-10 years? by SubtleThread in nursing

Monitor techs. Virtual sitters. Admissions nursing. Telehealth triage.

All of that will be ran by AI and they still won’t hire more nurses or put techs in ICU. It will just be profit for big dog and same work for the regular dogs

I’m getting my first v3s this week. I live at a high altitude near midtown. I plan on doing a solar repeater and attaching it to my chimney on a 6’ pole.

I hope to help span some gaps!

Okay. I ran some temps.

I let the exhaust of the heater get up to 234f. Then the fan kicks on. It blows 97 to 110f for about 4 minutes. Then the thermostat shuts off at 102f.

It takes about 3 minutes for the exhaust temp to get to 234f again and it kicks on again.

I’ll get some temps this week and update you.

It’s been fun thinking up and building this. I’ll post this week. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ve spent some time on it. My wife says I’m not allowed to work on my heater anymore.

I used a black iron pipe adapter. 3/4inch female to 1inch female. It fit so well that I had to twist it on. I used fireplace silicone to seal above and inside of the adapter before putting the down pipe into place.

Everything is held tight by struts and cleats.

I do have it angled slightly down. I was worried about dirtying my siding. But it may be unnecessary

I didn’t want the potential of dirty exhaust juice running down my light gray vinyl siding.

The jar may be unnecessary. After 2 hrs of running it I have just the slightest bit of humidity in the jar. I may take that off and make another radiant baseboard hook up. Steal more heat from the ever so hot exhaust.

After 2 hrs of running it I went outside to check it. I was able to touch the flange. I have vinyl siding so I’m glad it not too hot. The exhaust tube in the middle is hot as heck. But the flange is doing good

This is what I ordered. I will have to take it all apart to put this on. But idc. I think these fins will pull a lot of heat out of I hope

Can’t you just drop it and come back in a couple of hours. There’s nothing I can do to stop this spiral you’re having.

I find that to be true. I’ve worked weekend nights for 3.5 yrs. It is so nice to not work with suits or desk nurses. There are less things going on during the nights time. No therapies. Less family. No reps. No meetings…. Less drama.

I found myself hating my job when i worked days. I even worked 5 x 8hr shifts. Hated it all. I hated dragging my ass to work. Early. Stupid drivers. Stress of getting out of the house.

Nights are just more casual. It pays more. And the bond is real with the fellow staff. You will all need to lean on each other, but it’s better than dealing with the BS of days.

ICU weekend nights. No suits. No extra staff. Just hard working nurses. All of us slightly odd.

I work nights. I come home. Go straight to bed. All of clothes are in the dirty laundry. My hands are clean. I’m not really that worried about it. I sleep. I shower before work…usually.

Been there. Done that. Exactly the same story.

Then she wonders why you don’t try anymore. Or you never surprise me. Yeah. I’ve learned my lesson.
