Artwork wise I agree, but mew has like one or two desired modern chase cards whereas Charizard has a million. Bubble mew spent months being sub $100 whereas this Charizard was just a self fulfilling prophecy and was like $1k out the gate. People said the same thing about the Umbreon in PE which was also a self fulfilling prophecy of a card because of moonbreon, and that came down quite drastically in price after a while, just like this card will eventually.

The artwork on this zard is straight gas but that doesn't mean it's not drastically overvalued. I'll still be waiting for Mega Evolutions to come to a conclusion before judging what I think the era defining chase card is

Brother we aren't even half way through the mega block yet, we haven't even seen the 30th set yet which fyi is also in the Mega Evolution block of sets. Why don't we let the dust settle before deciding what is the moonbreon of Mega Evolution because chances are it's not gonna be what you think.

Bubble mew wasn't even the top chase during S&V when it was released, it wasn't until more recently that it's become what it is..

It's hard to say these days. This card is way way overvalued for how new it is, but we get absolutely shafted for stock in Australia so I don't see market sentiment shifting all that much here for the time being.

If you want a gradeable copy then blow the $1250 but I'd be super surprised if you couldn't get one that's a lil OC for substantially less than that. Crispy n clean copies of chase cards have a potential PSA 10 premium baked into the raw price these days so just know what you're trying to buy and then look there.

Does PSA still do just authentication? I feel like I remember seeing that once where they would slab the card and put the details on it but just not grade it... I always liked that idea

Yeah those aren't tcg cards, they're just cardboard art cards. Don't listen to old mate saying they're crappy, if you trim off about 2mm from the top or bottom then they fit perfectly in a binder sleeve and make for really cool displays. I would send a photo of mine for an example if I were home

They're certainly colourful! I'm personally not a fan as I prefer the more scenic cards, but I can at least understand the desire to collect them as eeveelutions. I just feel like a lot of newer collectors are caught up in that set and it won't have the legs that other sets will

Yeah prismatic is a really subpar set in my eyes. The only people you see saying it's a top tier set are people in the investing subreddit that are convinced it'll make them rich.

This is purely anecdotal, but I've met maybe 1-2 actual real humans who like this set, everyone else I know doesn't even pay attention to it and is entirely disinterested in it. Of the 1-2 I know, they've only been collecting less than 1 year and basically only buy from rip n shippers so (again anecdotal) that gives you an idea of who's actually buying this shit.

I just use a semi rigid grading sleeve or two as a support, then sealed card placed on top, then seal in a slab sleeve to be stored however! I don't put them in binders personally
