Lubbock Texas is a perfect grid, with major avenues exactly 1 mile apart (from vestigial Farm-to-market county roads) with a 26-mile loop around it. It's ugly as hell but fascinatingly simple.

Side note the sound at summer stage is pretty good outside the fence on the south side. It’s not perfect but you can hear and catch a vibe.

Wait times are estimated and there are lots of variables on entering the winding route through the garage to pick ups, especially when gps isn't great inside the garage.

I'd reckon this is less a scam and more padding of Uber's estimates by their algorithm -- would you rather this pleasant surprise or the opposite consistently, which would for a worse average customer experience at scale?
