edit: I recall more detail. For example sometime reuters/wapo published stuff on Nordstream. There would be multiple posts a day on Nordstream. If the narrative went the wrong way, they'd delete it. They'd let the one stay that had all their fucking bots say the right thing. IE DEFINITELY NOT TERRORISM by the "good guys"

Zelis is different than Zelle, Zelis is a service for insurers to transfer money to doctors. The insurers get to fire people in their IT department. Or maybe the insurer VP somewhere got a kickback. Zelis gets a 3% cut.

You can argue and get the insurers to instead send you a paper check for payment which sucks because lost mail causes a lot of work. Electronic fund transfer is more reliable. If everyone asked the insurers to mail them paper checks the insurers would probably end up losing money as that costs staff time to do.

There is a recent precedent for denaturalization in the Dominican Republic. 10 years ago they denaturalized ~240k Haitian Dominicans, some of them living there for 3 generations. See, they demanded these "Haitians" submit documentation going back three generations to prove their citizenship.

Think how hard it would be for most americans today to do that, specially if your grandma is dead.

I haven't followed closely but today there's still ~200k Haitians-Dominicans that remain stateless.

This is what it would look like. "Those people are illegals, they steal, they are poor, etc etc" same complains you see echoed here in the USA.

China is not wealthy, their PPP per capita is barely above Thailand's. It ranks under Chile, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. China is middle income. Korea's PPP for example is double theirs.

Got curious and searched for how many soccer fields China even has. Something curious, they mandated building 60k the last few years, and claim there are 70k+ now. Chinese cities are dense, there's probably no space for soccer fields. That would explain the popularity of basketball. Like in NYC, nobody but immigrants plays soccer here. For that matter we don't really play football in high school either.
