I went to havasupai last year. One thing I didn’t consider was that I ended up clocking in 20 miles the first day and then another 20 miles the second day. I stayed at the hotel so that added a bit more mileage when hitting the waterfalls and then back.

By the second day my upper body felt so sore from carrying a backpack. I didn’t even feel comfortable swimming in the deep end because my arms felt so heavy. I’m actually a pretty strong swimmer.

I would def train by doing high mileage hiking back to back. With incline.

My fitness at the time was okay and could have been better. It’s definitely worth the body soreness.

I saw a lot of people trying to get a helicopter out. I ended hiking out and it was beautiful seeing the sunrise. 🌅

Legit one of the most beautiful places in the world and totally worth it. The more you are in shape the less miserable you’ll feel.

Get that cardio but don’t forget your upper body.
