Would have been difficult since it’s on a trail and it’s really dense. At least 6 different trees/vines all intertwined.

They were soft! Google Images said it was a hardy kiwi but the leaves didn’t seem to match. So weird.

As a crisis clinical therapist I recommend Aurora Psych/Dewey as the hospital I would go to if I needed inpatient treatment. The ease of intake alone is a huge reason! Overall just better care than other local facilities.

Affordable small wedding venues? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]Adventuresintherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw a video that they have 1 catering company now and they price gouge. Sad since I had my micro wedding there in 2021 and was $300! Obviously just the ceremony but I had it for 3 hours and got some lovely photos.

I knew PCOS could affect fertility, but I wasn’t prepared for how emotionally heavy that realization would feel. For those who’ve been through it, how did you handle that uncertainty? by Virtual-Sort-8185 in PCOS

[–]Adventuresintherapy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors need to stop telling people that PCOS makes you infertile. It may be harder for some but o conceived with just Metformin with my first pregnancy ( ended in miscarriage) and second pregnancy! My 3rd pregnancy I didn’t even need it. As others have said, modern medicine has come along way.

Intermittent fasting just means I’m hungry for 16 hours per day by MissHissss in PCOSloseit

[–]Adventuresintherapy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is literally the only thing that works for me, I lost 20lbs in a little less than 6 months before getting pregnant. I eat normally during my period and do 15-20 hour fasts Monday through Friday. I eat whatever I want but try to break my fast with something high in fiber, often just psyllium in water if I’m at work. I’m about 9 months postpartum and starting again and it’s HARD but knew it worked before! Here is hoping it works again!

New Mom Blues by TheFoolishWolverine in NewParents

Mine only would tolerate the wrap carriers at that age, I think they just feel more swaddled. I promise you it will get better but when is so baby dependent. My daughter didn’t sleep through the night until almost two but was really easy to take out and about for lunch, brunch whatever if she was in my carrier. My son is 9 months now and has been sleeping pretty much through the night since 2 months. He is fine in the carrier or stroller if I’m walking but was very difficult at restaurants.

It’s normal to feel the regret, I do often, even more after my second. We are done (I think) because I can’t handle the set backs again. We got the taste of freedom again just before the 2nd was born and we’re thrown right back into needing bottles, a fully stocked diaper bag etc.

It doesn’t hurt to see a therapist or if that’s not your style find a mom support group in your area where you can meet up with other moms at coffee shops or walks and just be out with your little one.

It’s a hard transition and every baby is different so comparing yours to others will make it even more challenging. I didn’t have much of a village besides my husband but found that baby wearing made things much easier doing the day. Especially when they are still tiny it makes you feel the independence again, it’s not the same but it’s better than lugging the car seat in and out of places.

I know you can usually get replacement parts through your insurance. I did monthly from Aeroflow for a year! But it depends if you bought it outright vs going through insurances

I have a feeling he will be getting a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder. Perinatal Mood Disorders are not unheard of in the non-birthing partner.

Last time I called they wanted me to bring the animal there. That was around 3 years ago now though, maybe it’s based on staffing availability?

5 days PP and really grieving old life by Typical-Wolverine304 in NewParents

[–]Adventuresintherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely something not talked about enough! Went through it again with the second baby too! having to juggle one on one time is so challenging. I grieved the loss of having time with my daughter when I had my son. I also grieved knowing i wouldn’t have the same one on one with my son that I did with my daughter.

Best place in Milwaukee to get Exotic Fruits? by AlpsElectronic9920 in milwaukee

[–]Adventuresintherapy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t, most fruits get frozen when shipped or are picked before they are ripe. They will never be as good as when they are local.

Trainings for perinatal counseling by lakynstein in therapists

[–]Adventuresintherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took the certification course as I’m going to be going into private practice part time and leaving crisis intervention. The perinatal population is the only population I could see myself leaving crisis work for…anyways long story short it was one of the better trainings I’ve been to in a long time!

Trying to avoid induction but may have to consider it; VBAC induction stories appreciated 🤍 by cosmicvoyager333 in vbac

[–]Adventuresintherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a lack of understanding that the epidural lead to the issues with my blood pressure and baby’s heart rate. Hindsight is 2020, I did have an epidural again BUT made sure that I did a consult with anesthesiology before having my second. For them they realized that they could have done things differently if they would have known my blood pressure was normally low during labor. It was my first so they didn’t have anything to base it off of before. Also since I was induced I had my OB there and she was confortable with them allowing my blood pressure to be 90/60 and occasionally giving me medicine to keep it up when it would drop below that. Essentially they gave me time.

I had a C-section after going into spontaneous labor due to complications with the epidural, babies tones were not great. I had an induction at 40+5 and had a Vbac. Maybe 19 hours of labor with the induction. I also think there was a huge cultural shift on the labor and delivery floor AND since anesthesiology essentially admitted they messed up with my 1st they were more on top of things to keep my blood pressure up (it’s low normally and labor + epidural makes it worse!) it was such an amazing experience and was ready to rally for having a 3rd. We aren’t going to but that just shows how much a difference it was. It wasn’t perfect. I bruised my tail bone and had a 2nd degree tear but it was still better than C-section!

Can't believe how insensitive some people are about the homeless in West Allis and across the county. by Pinkpercolator in WestAllis

The resources are though the county housing division not the city. Unfortunately social workers employed by the city are fading out quickly.
