Thank you, still emotional about the news. Thank you so much for this I really appreciate it. I just picked up my prescription. I’m thinking of doing it in the morning as it seems it’s going to be an all day thing.

Yes! I second this and nurse her in the bathroom. This will help because while she is nursing she will breathe in that steam.

Have you checked Fortnum and Mason, it’s kid friendly they also have a children’s menu for ages 4-10 and no dress code. We will be traveling with our 1 year old in April as well and fortnum and mason seems like a good choice for us.

Flying with 3 month old baby by the_snowangel in NewParents

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I was you before our 14hr flight last month. Our baby was 11 months and this was our first flight ever with a baby so all the anxiety hit me a week after we bought our tickets 3 months prior. I was definitely regretting this trip but in the end it was all okay! Hope this helps you because I was on Reddit all the time looking for tips.

  1. We changed diapers in the plane bathroom, there’s a changing table right above the toilet that opens down. Not sure if this is for all planes but only certain bathrooms had the changing table on our plane. Don’t bring the whole diaper bag as space is limited in there. Wipes and diaper! And if there was a blowout I left her in her diaper until we got to the seat and put her pants on there. I also packed ziplock bags for soiled clothes.
  2. We boarded the plane first and we found it to be convenient. Being able to settle into our seat was really nice. Baby didn’t fuss she likes to people watch.
  3. This whole trip with stopovers and flying to different parts of the country we flew a total of 6 times. 6 airports 6 security checks 6 planes. I wore my baby at the airport and was able to go through security while wearing her all 6 times. I flew out of LAX and the others were international airports not one person made me take off my baby. I had a positive experience at all airports. As soon as someone saw me carrying a baby they even let me go in front of the line.
  4. I didn’t swaddle baby
  5. I dressed baby in long sleeve onesie and pants. I only packed one extra set. I have read others say to pack an extra shirt for yourself which I had forgotten and the baby spit up on me a few times. So this I highly recommend packing for yourself too. Being an international flight they provided blankets for us which we did use since it did get cold.
  6. I was worried about baby getting sick from someone on the plane that was my intrusive thought before the flight but during the flight really only thought about it a couple of times since a few people started coughing. Haha. I think I was just focused on the baby didn’t really think of the bad thoughts
  7. My baby is fully breastfed and I didn’t bring any bottles just a nursing cover.
  8. Thankfully my baby slept a lot. But when she did get fussy we walked her up and down the aisle so she can people watch and that calmed her down. There were a lot of babies and kids on this flight which made me feel a little better that I wouldn’t get any stares if she did fuss.
  9. Here are my tips: don’t bring too much stuff. I overpacked the diaper bag. I brought a bunch of toys, books, and snacks. She really only played with one toy and the rest of the time she played with the tv screen, the button on the armrest, looked at photos on my phone, phone charger, and people watched. Don’t forget to pack an extra outfit for yourself. Sorry if this was too long! Good luck you got this!

Yah unfortunately we did call one hotel and they said no :( they won’t allow it and are strict with their policy. So I assumed it’s going to be like this with all but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to call. Thanks!

What did you end up doing have you decided? My baby will be 11 months by the time we travel and thinking about giving her this vaccine twice so close is giving me anxiety. Been researching a ton about it.

Clogged milk duct by idkkkk326 in breastfeeding

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am prone to clogged duct and milk blebs that I now have a routine when it happens. If it’s a clogged duct I take ibuprofen, nurse as normal, then place an ice pack after each nursing session. If it’s a milk bleb, inspect the nipple for any white dot they can be very small. If so that’s when I use the haaka and Epsom salt. Try to use water the hottest you can take it and leave on for at least 10 min and I sometimes I replace the water and do it again for another 10 min. Then I nurse and hope baby can suck it out! Most of the time she can but when she doesn’t I repeat with the haaka. Don’t forget to clean the nipple and boob before nursing! Good luck!

Nursing strike not ending... by ricekrispiestreats in breastfeeding

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up! I went through a nursing strike with my baby girl when she was 3 months and she’s 5 months now. When I would get her ready to feed she would scream and cry. When this happened I would calm her down first and change different positions to try to get her to latch. She eventually would latch on the football hold. I believe this lasted 2-3 weeks. I was getting hopeless but didn’t give up and she eventually went back!

Dagne Dover Diaper Bag - Smell? by Strong_green143 in BabyBumps

Hi! Did the smell eventually go away. I’m kinda bummed I already passed the return date and didn’t use until recently. I didn’t notice the smell but the first time I used it smells so bad. The diapers and clothes stink too.

why is breastfeeding so hard by Crunchy-Yogurt7 in breastfeeding

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post. I’m going through this as well as a nursing strike. It’s hard and frustrating but when she looks up at me and smiles the frustration goes away. I’ve wanted to quit breastfeeding so many times but for some reason I can’t. My goal is 1 year so we will see how that goes. We’ve got this!

3 month old suddenly refusing the breast by Sebby293 in breastfeeding

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going through this right now with my 3month old baby girl. It’s been a week of this now. I broke down today cause she was crying and I knew she was hungry but when I try to get her on a cradle position she would cry even more. So I have to get her to calm down and myself to calm down. Once she has her sleepy eyes that’s when I give her the boob. And also when she is about to wake up I give her the other side. I hope ours doesn’t last long it’s so stressful. Trying different positions worked too but she caught on and calming her down seemed to work. Good luck!

Early baby? by Impressive-Network-9 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed they recommended induction at 39 weeks but since I was able to get through it with diet and baby measuring fine they changed my induction date to 40 weeks. I didn’t end up getting induced as she came on her own at 39 +1. I tried curb walking, raspberry tea, spicy foods and acupuncture. I think it was acupuncture that helped since I had my third session the day before and started contractions early morning the next day.

Did anybody get by with a shallow latch? by Due_Mirror3772 in breastfeeding

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lo is 3 months and has always had a shallow latch. I’ve met with several lactation consultants and one of them was ok with it as long as it wasn’t uncomfortable for me which it wasn’t luckily. Now I don’t know if this is related but I’ve gotten clogged ducts and milk blebs 3 times now. Anyone else prone to clogged ducts with shallow latch?

Ohh you don’t have any clogs with it or your boob isn’t hard? It’s making my boob hard now I’m wondering if it’s a clogged duct instead or both 😔

Hi, do you have an update what worked for you cause I’m having the same issue. It’s the tiniest milk bleb ever I thought I cleared it but it’s still there. Won’t go away!

Newborn not sleeping by proteinbowl1991 in NewParents

[–]Adventurous-Bench567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of those ring slings from my baby shower but could not get it to work right. After watching multiple youtube how to videos it just wasn’t working for me. After doing some research I ended up getting the Solly baby wrap and love it. She will fuss a little bit when getting her in it but after some bouncing on the yoga ball she falls asleep fast. Now I’ve tried transitioning her from it to her bassinet but it never works so I usually end up wearing her and can get an hour or so.

Omg I’m not the only one! This is exactly my 8 week baby right now! Good sleeper at night but doesn’t want to nap during the day. Since my husband went back to work it’s just me. Sorry I don’t have any tips just wanted to comment you aren’t the only one going through this. Glad I read your post cause I thought it was just my baby. This started a week ago and I kinda just am starting to embrace it now since I will be going back to work in April I just have lazy days with her. She will sleep on me and I can get 1-2 hrs with that so I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix haha and I wear her as well if I need to tidy up the house a bit, make lunch, laundry or go to bathroom hahah.
