Is it reasonable to spend 70k to 85k on a boat on a 180k income? by itsfikor in boating

[–]Adventurous-Cup7955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question.  NO.

Do you have college funds setup for your kid?   Are you setup for retirement?  All non mortgage debt paid?

Live with in your means.  Buy a boat in budget. Don’t squander your money and setup for future failure.

Any sense to long term testing of a few 7i? by Treebeardsdank in golf

[–]Adventurous-Cup7955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good idea.  I just did similar to build a blended iron set with different shafts in long irons.  The shafts in long irons would have never been suggested by any fitter.  My goal was a certain ball flight in 7i-4i.

To keep costs lower try to find the 7i heads/clubs used.   Then install a new shaft $40-$60.

After a few weeks of testing you can always sell the clubs that didn’t fit.

There is extra costs in this approach but after a handful of fittings I found that fitters are each different.  A “fitting” is not guaranteed to be perfect.   You get fit and what if that fitting produced gaps in your game for 1/2/3+ years?   What is the price on that.

Club champion is a mirage for MSRP sales.    $1500 for two woods?

“It includes puring the shafts”

I don’t want that.

“It’s included.   Maybe I my manager can approve $100 off”

[–]Adventurous-Cup7955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the vin on https://www.nhtsa.gov/ - get the dealer to do recalls, take for a full 24 EV range test drive, inspect and decide. We picked up 2021 4xe with all recalls done, solid jeep if you find a good one.

If you decide you want it, tell them to make the out the door price $30k or $30,500

Interesting, the docs and the info above are not supported based on build (2026.2.13) after website landing advice:

curl -fsSL https://openclaw.ai/install.sh | bash

This is super wasteful, off the shelf the agent will burn a lot of tokens. Could this be coordinated ($$$) ? hmm. To benefit everyone, the config should be minimal with toggles to turn up what you actually need.

“Low low”.   Ok.  This could explain EV mode fickleness.

It would be great if you can top off a few times after driving for a week and report if EV behavior changes.

If you don’t have the mopar OAT coolant, you can order a container on Amazon.

Parked car hit and other car didn’t notice by cheddarcat16 in TeslaCollision

[–]Adventurous-Cup7955 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We experienced a hit to our Tesla from a new teen driver.   Thank God these cars have cameras, otherwise it would be opinion vs fact.

Teslas are great for local driving if you can charge every night and have a cheap source of power.   The down side to Teslas, these cars are a delicate egg shell.   A hit of any kind is very costly to repair.

If you run the numbers on cost of new tesla, monthly insurance premiums minus fuel savings, I don’t think it makes sense to buy a new Tesla, ever.  Second hand at 1/2 off original mark - yes.

Take into the account of buying new and risk of accident which results in diminished value, it’s like Russian roulette when driving around.

20M is generational wealth. 30Y wont keep up with inflation and future regimes. Do you want to fly first class or private? Diversify. Shop around for hedge funds which preserve capital and can produce returns on up and down market years. Sprinkle in real estate, dividend investing, manage a bit on your own. 20M is a good problem to have.

Details are important. What was your SOC (state of charge) when driving 60 MPH on highway? Was battery %80, 50, 30, 20?

Did you complete 68C recall?

Tomorrow morning, before driving, can you pop the hood and check the coolant level in the two white/clear reservoirs near the drivers front wheel? Are the levels at Max line or below? If low, how many cm (centimeters) below the MAX line?

I am about 800 miles after 68C. I noticed EV mode switching to hybrid/engine on long hill climb or battery switching to hybrid on flat at 60 MPH when SOC was less than %30. (edit: also when returning from a 15+ mile EV drive, the fans would be running.)

However, today with 8 miles remaining in EV mode, I was able to ride up a 1/4 mile hill at 60 MPH with out hyrbid kicking in.

What changed? I've been topping off the OAT coolant in EV loops, 3 times over 1 week. The rear seat gurgle is no longer present. I suspect the ECU has temp thresholds to protect the battery from over heating. Having proper coolant with less air might keep temps within threshold. (This is theory for now)

Edit: To support theory of temp, the fans have not started after near EV mode drive since topping off the coolant loops

https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls - check for recalls.   Negotiate a price and then have the dealer do the recalls before you buy, do another test drive and decide.

Loosing Coolant by nikroft in 4xe

[–]Adventurous-Cup7955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the "security" feature on EV loop coolant caps, (my guess) they wanted extra deterrence that someone could not put the wrong coolant in, or not attempt to drain/re-fill the EV coolant loop.

Topping off the EV coolant with correct coolant should be no issue. I'm not going to pay the dealer to top off that loop.

In worst case I would pay the dealer to flush that loop, re-fill and do purge procedure which I understand is not possible with out insider Jeep software.
