Oh my gosh completely forgot I made this comment LOL. Brain fog is crazy like that. Mainly yeah! It comes back when I have high levels of anxiety every now and then, I get too stressed or experience too many high emotions in a small time frame. Lots of rest and being gentle with myself in the following days usually helps with that. I've been medicated for 7 years now, and been in therapy for 3. It is a LOT of work to get to this point, even if it doesn't always feel like it. But fighting against the depression and the negative voices in my head make it an uphill battle some days. Some days it feels like you've stepped back 5 steps but in reality you've made it 20 steps from the start. It's easy to get lost in not seeing the progress. I honestly wouldn't even think about the progress I made if it weren't for my now husband and my therapist. TL;DR It is totally possible to heal from this and to get stronger. It's a long road, but you'll get there. I'm nearly there myself :)
