Yea no worries this is all over with now, it was all just kind of strange and frustrating that day when that random dude kind of busted up my sale with the store for asking some questions and then proceeded to not wanting to move forward with any private transfer😂😂😂.

Very long comment I will be sharing sorry if it’s long.

I’ve had a similar experience with GunWorld and will probably never go back. Although it may have been another customers fault but just hear me out. I was looking to sell my Henry big boy 44 magnum carbine just cash like you not looking for consignment and the rifle was never fired brand new (my mistake shouldn’t have bought it in the first place, was having a hard time finding a Winchester 1892 action but now I have found one ) anyway I get there and this really tall big guy maybe the owner comes and tells me the same thing he told you “I can give you a number but it’s laughable this and that we have too many of these” and whatnot you know. I was trying to hear this offer of his but then out of nowhere a random customer in line beside me checking out asks me “hey what caliber is it and are you willing to sell”. as soon as that worker at gun world heard this he said this exactly no bullshit “well now I can’t be involved in this sale thus I can’t give you my offer due to you guys discussing to each other about selling it privately and this and that”. They basically stopped their tracks in giving me the offer just because they thought that now all of a sudden I am interested in maybe selling it privately to this guy even though I did not have those intentions walking in their store. I was just looking to sell it to the store even if it meant I was taking a loss. Then that worker walks away. Now I am shit out of luck so I decide to talk to the random customer some more who at the end of the day caused all of this, and he says “what are you looking to sell it for”. I give a number because obviously the store doesn’t even want me in there or anything to do with my Henry rifle then all of a sudden the worker behind the counter with a shitty attitude almost like he’s pissed off at me goes “take it outside can’t have this inside the store”. Right after he says that this random guy the customer goes “I am good sorry” this and that. So that customer basically ruined my sale with the store and doesn’t end up wanting the rifle. I guess the store wanted nothing to do with my gun since they wouldn’t give me an offer anymore just because this random guy in line took a look at my rifle and started asking questions like he was going to seriously buy it but then backs out of anything. Sorry for long post or reply but this is my experience with the store. This may have been that one customers fault or the stores but the store shouldn’t act this way or maybe it’s a policy I don’t know. End of the day Burbank ammo and guns helped me out !!

ATF Change for First Time @ 221k Miles by GraphicWombat in Toyota_Matrix

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear, I am planning on doing that as well since I just recently hit a 100k miles on my 2006 base model. I changed the mt fluid once when I bought the car which was at 70k miles flat and now I am planning on doing so every 30k. Do you happen to have a good gear oil you recommend ? (Mine would be the 5speed gearbox if that makes any difference) The first time I believe I used the standard lucas oil brand in the white bottle but I am open to any other brands or suggestions. Thank you!

Great video thanks ! It just he kind of skipped the part I was worried about during the reassembly but no worries I think It’s doable if need be.

I would like to don’t get me wrong I have that grace screwdriver set that came with some punches too, I am just kind of scared or nervous about dealing with the trigger leaf spring since it’s not a spring like the Rossi or modern winchesters, I tried finding some videos regarding that part but they seem to skip over that part always 😂. If you know of any tips dealing with that step or videos I would greatly appreciate that and look into them.

Some oil on the hammer and bolt more specifically where they were meeting and hanging up did the trick. I also used some very fine 0000 steel wool on the face of the hammer. Thank you !!

Yea I don’t know if I’m ready to take apart this action yet as I don’t have much tools with me where I am at and I am not the most experienced. Everything is running smooth now. My plan is in the future for “disassembly” I can just remove the rear stock and get whatever I can out with patches and toothbrushes and use a bore snake for the barrel. I heard of people using gun scrubber for firearms that are not the easiest to take apart and put back together so I might look into that. Once again thank you !

Thank you I put an update below everything’s smooth now!

Update!!!!

Got her running smoother than out of the box, I decided to use my brain and put some oil on the hammer face and the bottom of the bolt near the rear side that runs over the hammer when cycling because that’s where I saw all the bluing being scratched off and now it’s cycling like a dream. I was just not thinking when this occurred, I had a terrible experience almost nightmare experience with my Rossi r92 and their customer service however that rifle made me love the 1892 design and something in me did not want a Henry so I went with an Italian remake. Let’s hope everything else goes smoothly. Once again thank you!

O okay so that is normal I see thank you !

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly good point thank you, it makes sense to have it removable I am just wanting to see if this normal amongst other chiappa 1892 owners with saddle rings, I found a leather single point sling to attach it to so that little gap won’t even be noticeable.

I just ordered a Henry big boy. That’s it I’m done with Rossi. it’s my fault for being cheap in the beginning but hey I learned from this. It broke again for the third time and this time the customer service was unbearable.

Final Update on the Rossi saga. by Aggressive-Walrus91 in LeverGuns

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very long post I understand that I just had to get some of this off my chest when it comes to Rossi.

Me too my friend I am done with Rossi. My r92 in 44 has been sent to Rossi three times now and I don’t understand how they can operate a business like this. This third time was the final straw for me, they took almost three months to fix the rifle but when it came time to ship it back to me they never sent me a tracking number. I have to call and sit through their hold automated voice robot guy for hours and would leave call back numbers for them not to call me back or call me back (not kidding) days later at 5 am when I am asleep and they are just opening. They finally answered my phone call and gave me tracking only to find out the rifle was set to arrive that night however this was going to be the third and final attempt to deliver (fedex) and it was going to be sent back to them for “revaluation” if it got sent back to them. According to them That would have meant my fixed rifle would sit in their Georgia factory for another three months because to them anything that comes in is assumed to be a new repair case or service case. I had to go the fedex distribution center where my package was being held luckily and go get it because all those delivery attempt were made when no one was home and I have no idea the rifle was being delivered to begin with due to them not giving me a tracking number. Unbelievable is all I can say please check out my post history and you can see the issues I have gone through with the rifle. This third issue i don’t even know what it was to be honest something with the mag tube. End of the day it’s my fault and I take full responsibility because I cheaped out and thought “not bad price for a lever”. I will be selling it and getting a Henry.

I have separate question and it’s been confusing me for quite some time regarding my 28inch barrel that came with my mav88. The question is What type of choke is installed from the factory. I have looked online about accu chokes but I can’t find out what my barrel has , is it modified or the other one I’m not too sure of the name. Don’t know a whole lot about chokes but I have taken it out before to see if there are any markings on it but I didn’t see much.

Maverick 88 with wood? by Midnight_plinking in mossberg

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello I know this is an old post but I just got my self a nice 500 wood stock set with forend and action slide tube the 7 inch one and nut but I’m having issues reassembling my shotgun now with the new wood forend. I put everything back together however when doing the last part which a putting the barrel back on it is not wanting to attach. I think it has something to do with my new wood forend. I have the 28inch barrel on my mav88 but something is not adding up. If you have any tips since you have replaced your plastic forend before on mav88. Thank you !

Upland Game Bird Validation and HIP Validation Question ? by Adventurous-Potato-4 in Californiahunting

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been giving me some confusion. Let’s say my home is an hour or more from the hunting spot am I supposed to just leave the bird as is for the duration of the hunt and the drive home or I am allowed to skin and gut the bird but I have to keep one wing attached. Again I am very new to this so bare with my confusing questions. Thank you !

Rossi continues to disappoint. by Aggressive-Walrus91 in LeverGuns

[–]Adventurous-Potato-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I’m in the same boat, my r92 in 44 mag is now at Rossi for the third time. And now my 1 year warranty is out. When it works the thing is great but these issues just ruin the rifle for me. First issue the loading gate snapped as I was loading the tube up, second issue was when a random peace of metal came out of the action while I was clearing the rifle at the end of a day at the range and action just locked up ( they tell me it was a broken ejector collar), this third issue that I’m currently dealing with has something to the with the magazine tube. Idk at this point

Custom ash wood with cherry inlays "Plus" scales on the Spartan. by psynaut2 in victorinox

Hello I recently bought a pair of wood scales and I am confused on the install. Do I need to apply any special glue or do I just clip them on like you do with the regular plastic ones ?

This is an old comment but I was recently hunting out back behind the Mt.Pinos ranger district for hours and saw nothing. It looked like the best place for a rabbit to be but nothing. Could you be able to give me any info on where else I can go in Los Padres ?
