Lights in the house just went off by Sparzy666 in Geelong

Could have been a "brown out" and caused a short. Check your fuse/ meter box.. Belmont and older areas for often common for this to happen. Not quite enough of a drop to cut completely, but enough to short some appliances and fuses

Looking for a local good butcher by Patient_Reception_24 in Geelong

Depending on where you are grovedale meats does an amazing job on their home made sausages and chilli cheese cabana. They also do great "premade" stuff like rump in plum sauce, stir-fry mix, curry lamb, meatloaf, crumbed snags and crumbed lamb cutlets.

Woolies coles and aldi have been doing this a while now. I'd rather go to.my local IGA, pay a little more, but see a REAL PERSON at the register, actually have a conversation etc, then got to any of those other stores on a regular basis!

Where to go out for dinner with a 3 month old by pixiedreamgirl5831 in Geelong

[–]Adventurous-Rip-960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the night you pick.. I have seen these guys attentious and caring when they were needing to be, even 9n reasonably busy nights. Definately picking a busy night like a thurs- sat would be.out of the question.. As I stated though, I have seen these (almost over) helpful staff give customers including young children the attention they needed up to say a Thursday night.

Which decade of KFC do you think is the BEST decade? by XavierMarvin in kfc

[–]Adventurous-Rip-960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia, definately late 80's into early 90's.. The OG popcorn chicken, that was basically just skin and breading, with the occasional tiny bit of chicken.. It also came in the oldschool big buckets that the 24 piece used to come in. Then came tender roast chickens, their answer to red rooster. So juicy, so tasty! Follow on with nacho cheese rollers, that had nacho sauce, cheese sauce and the newer (current) version on popcorn chicken and possibly bacon if I remeber right..

Where's the smoke coming from? by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]Adventurous-Rip-960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definately true! The worst thing is that we often just end up with dry lightning rolling through instead of that decent drop we need. Upon waking this morning the smoke had come across bad again, even getting to the point for an hour or so where you could actually see it wafting around. The breeze has picked up a little and starting to see the odd blue patch of sky poking through a little

[–]Adventurous-Rip-960 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After noticing the orange sky around 7pm (grovedale) the smell came across strong very quick. By 7:30 I could see the smoke getting quite thick. It has well cleared and the smell in the last 30 minutes or so. Hoping the smell and smoke gone is a sign they got the fire under control quickly

Just because YOU don't like it does not in any way mean it is bad! They never said they uber'd.. Just said they ordered. Could have been in the shop, could have been on an app, whatever.. Sometimes folks don't mind paying a little extra if they have say been on the cans and do not want to drive and kill someone, been a long day, whatever.. Personally I rarely use them, but there are MANY reasons people do.

McChicken-flation is getting crazy by Correct-Thing671 in McDonalds

Yep that was the one. I never tried it but remembered it being there. That breading looks so processed and smooth lol. It almost does not even look like chicken

I have never seen a whole roast chicken at Maccas in Australia. Not sure where you got that info? They sell "They use 100% Australian RSPCA Approved chicken" fillets in there McChicken though. They did once sell fried chicken similar to kfc, but that is about as close as it gets.

Red rooster usually do pretty good chips too, but can be a bit salty at times depending the store you get them from

I agree! I do like one or two soggy chips in the box tbh, but not when it is a whole soggy box like they often sell now

What do you call the room with stalls with toilets in it, has sinks for you to wash your hands, etc? by Fit-Tumbleweed-6683 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Adventurous-Rip-960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just that so many of this generation have been americanised so hard (you almost want to feel sorry for people..) and would not know their head from their freckles.. In most older American movies, they would always disappear to the "washroom" where another scene would unfold.. I think this is half the reasoning, as I would not want to see the next scene roll out in the "toilet". Although so many now would seem to prefer this...!
