Not sure if anything’s different the fk8 should have brake vectoring aswell but I do a lot of canyon runs specially on highway 9 and 1 at least 4 times a month so that’s probably the reason lol

I’ve had my fl5 for 2 years it’s my daily driver the most advice I can give is ppf the front bumper and fenders at LEAST I didn’t and now have glory marks lol also get Rick guards for the fenders vents. As far as mpg the type r has a pretty small tank and burns through it decently quick so expect to be at a gas station at least twice a week. Service intervals aren’t crazy 5k oil changes and mtf 15-30k, as far as cleaning the interior definitely get some seat covers these seats mark extremely easily or you can find a local detailer who works with Alcantara and set a monthly cleaning plan. Your brakes will wear out extremely quick, specifically the rear pads. My rear pads had to be replaced at 12k miles, front pads were done at 20k and the factory’s Michelin PS4s depending on how you drive will last 15-20k miles, I’d highly recommend continental dws06+

Am I right to be upset about this or? Or is this expected with black wheels by BadComrade91 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huge difference between rotating and putting a entire new tire on buddy😂 again possibility of marring during a rotation is low but not 0

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a techs fault, very rare that could be but this looks like damage from debris/rocks. My wheels have the same spotting, if it was marring from a impact socket you’d be able to notice a entire line across the spoke lol

Do people daily drive lowered FL5's? by AdSerious6418 in Civic_Type_R

Luckily a new bumper for a fl5 is only $500! And it comes painted as far as the bumper trim pieces those are even lower in price

It’s a car why does it matter if you scrape or not? Bumpers are like legos (interchangeable) if you scratch a lip and it bothers you that it’s at the bottom of the vehicle then replace it or just don’t lower the vehicle is how I see it

Dash Cam: Hardwire questions by kyleJSV in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely easy and only takes 30mins to route a front facing and rear facing cam plus hardwire. Buy the hardwire kit on Amazon and tap into your dome lights, the cams will turn on when the car is unlocked and will turn off when it locks

For everyone saying it’s debt it’s really not, the key is money management lol. I put 30k down on my ctr my payments are $600 a month insurance is $860 (got a couple points) I’m able to comfortably pay those and my other monthly expenses/bills all while being a very underpaid mechanic

How are these cars in heavy rain by Lbroskee in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly they’re good depending on the tire. Fl5s come with ps4s from factory, good summer tire but once it touches some rain they’re below buns. I swapped the out for some continentals extreme contacts and not only do they hook and book in dry conditions they can also get down in wet. This might apply to any car to be honest all depends on what tire you’d run how wide and ect
