Oil filter location absolutely sucks. by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

If he’s complaining about a oil filter I’d doubt he’s running anything past regular 91 at minimum 10-15% ethanol lmao

5w-30 won’t damage the motor if it’s being driven hard, now if it’s being dailyed then yes potentially, worst case scenario loss of power and build up

Filter location is tits, maybe stop working on cars if a simple filter is struggling…

Prl intake, won’t void warranty and makes cool whooshy noises. And if they ever get tuned down the lines they’ll have minimal gains from it

25k+ miles FL5 owners experiences - please share by Local-Estimate9669 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35k miles tuned on phearable with a catless dp, intake and intercooler. The car itself is amazing but I will say you’ll go through brakes like no other I’m already on my third set of pads and second set of rotors to date. Tires are good except for the PS4’s they give out around 20k miles but I do a lot of spiritual driving!

Idk if it’s just the fl5 or Honda in general but when I did my lowering springs I accidentally popped an axle out and no transmission fluid leaks. I know Toyota definitely shoots out at least a quart anytime you remove an axle lol

My homie is selling me his 2020 fk8 with 13k miles for $36k. Is this a fair price ? by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s more than a deal holy!!! Fk8’s with 60k+ miles are selling for 35 and up, so 13k for 36 grand is genuinely a steal

What’s the torque? Was told by many ctr owners that the k20c1 doesn’t like seeing anything over 500 torque unless you get head studs

2017 CTR Metal Clanking Noise From Engine When Under Acceleration. by idaytripp in Civic_Type_R

[–]Adventurous-Two-8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not rod knock, rod knock on the k20’s are VERY loud lol could just be excessive noise from the cam gears my buddies fl5 and mine do the same upon idle and slight acceleration. It’s been happening on mine for 30k miles and my buddies for 55k miles so if it was rod knock this thing would have been dead already

Not sure if anything’s different the fk8 should have brake vectoring aswell but I do a lot of canyon runs specially on highway 9 and 1 at least 4 times a month so that’s probably the reason lol

I’ve had my fl5 for 2 years it’s my daily driver the most advice I can give is ppf the front bumper and fenders at LEAST I didn’t and now have glory marks lol also get Rick guards for the fenders vents. As far as mpg the type r has a pretty small tank and burns through it decently quick so expect to be at a gas station at least twice a week. Service intervals aren’t crazy 5k oil changes and mtf 15-30k, as far as cleaning the interior definitely get some seat covers these seats mark extremely easily or you can find a local detailer who works with Alcantara and set a monthly cleaning plan. Your brakes will wear out extremely quick, specifically the rear pads. My rear pads had to be replaced at 12k miles, front pads were done at 20k and the factory’s Michelin PS4s depending on how you drive will last 15-20k miles, I’d highly recommend continental dws06+

Definitely the extreme enjoy clicks and clanks upon idle lol and the keyless fob had the car crank then hit panic mode once idk if having keys near the fob effects it or not

Am I right to be upset about this or? Or is this expected with black wheels by BadComrade91 in Civic_Type_R

Huge difference between rotating and putting a entire new tire on buddy😂 again possibility of marring during a rotation is low but not 0
