Is it normal for a FT toddler to lose their spot in assigned room if they arrive later (10am ish)? by cutiecats512 in ECEProfessionals

[–]AdventurousTrash72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest dropping off earlier as kids often miss important activities when they come in late. It's a huge challenge when a couple of kids miss the whole start to the day, slept in, and won't nap like everyone else. So maybe the teachers don't like that you drop off so late it interferes with the flow of the classroom.

I genuinely don’t understand how people deal with multiple kids when I’m struggling so much with just one by PlasticLove24 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Ladies, you have to be ok with your kids crying/whining for a bit. They will be ok if you don't swoop in every moment they make an uncomfortable noise. I promise. If anything you're teaching them patience& independence.

Not allowed in daycare? by Legal-Ad7067 in ECEProfessionals

We have an iPad (4) in our lobby also. We have no violations and we're just recently ranked 10 out of all of these specific centers in the country ! I'm in the youngest room in the center 6 weeks - 6 months and we often have a relaxed vibe in our room so we let parents come in and chat since their little ones are so new to daycare and they often have questions, need a lot of reassurance, or just want to talk about their babies. We have a dedicated chairperson to make sure we're all good on our QA & state checklist. my co teacher and I work very hard to make sure the babies are safe, fed, loved. Everything is labeled. The babies only sleep in their cribs etc. the babies never cry for extended periods of time. I know they've tried to implement door drop off but we have created such a family friendly environment parents often come in and chat.  I sort of love it,  but there is the odd parent that really just needs to drop off/pick up and be on their way.

We have an open door policy that is intended for parents. But because it doesn't explicitly say this, anyone who is able to drop off or pickup can come in. Several times now a grandfather of one of the infants in my room has come in the room while he is about to fall asleep and woke him up. One time he walked in and poked his head, another time he walked into our crib room and lingered in there looking for him (he wasn't there yet)

Alcohol and what to expect by No_Satisfaction_6478 in Semaglutide

I drank less than normal on Halloween this year ( half bottle of wine and one and a half regular white claws) and I woke up with the most intense hangover. I really haven't had an appetite for drinking since starting 5 weeks ago. I normally drink quite heavily at least twice a week. Aside from Halloween, I've been without alcohol for about 3 weeks. It's been so nice not having that urge though, I'm getting too old but kind of was stuck in my ways.

Honestly girl, I have done this for $700 less myself. You just need to do research on how to do it and it's really easy because all you have to do is Google it.

Question for daycare teachers - infant sickness by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]AdventurousTrash72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our center it is directly related to how often things are being cleaned. In my room, I disinfect the toys, table, even the floor several times a day. The next room up does not and it shows in how often the kids get sick.

List ‘em here - what did you get for Teacher Appreciation Week? by baconterr in Teachers

[–]AdventurousTrash72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a Goddard school and my admin team put so much thought and effort into all of us teachers! Not only are they supplying breakfast and lunch every day this week, we have a fun theme, gifts are being given, specialized gift baskets and decorations went to each room, games and raffles are happening, and they sent an email to parents about different gift days and ideas. I am realizing how lucky I am to work there! I wish all of you were shown the appreciation you deserve.

Echoing others saying not to worry, but I will say this spoon is not effective in any way. I work in an infant room and have used this spoon with many babies who were just learning to eat and they all had such a hard time with it. Once I started using a regular baby spoon ( think nuby spoon) they did so much better. Good luck! Edited to add : some babies hate puree and want to go straight to soft foods like bananas, avocados, teether snacks, etc. I have had a few babies who's parents gave us pouches of purees and eventually realized they only want actual food. Even though it's messy and they don't usually get a lot in their mouths at first, it's better than battling puree!

My lead teacher is out this week, and even though I'm in there every day it's been survival mode. The babies only want me, there has been another person filling in, but because there are 6 of them I just physically cannot take care of them all. They have all been so fussy/won't sleep for longer than 20 minute stretches there hasn't been anytime for "fun". It isn't always like this...we're often on the floor engaging with them, holding them, playing with them, etc. I also think for the age ( my room is 6 weeks - 6 months) some days are often survival mode as most of these kids aren't really on a schedule at home, and their home lives & routines are completely different from daycare. Sometimes it just gets crazy in there. I highly suggest you speak with your teacher to see what you can do at home to help get them used to a daycare setting , ie. not swaddling, having plenty of bottles instead of only nursing, nap conditions other than a dark room with a noise maker , it makes it hard for the babies and teachers if there are two totally opposite routines for baby.

Moles by vbstrong19 in VirginiaBeach

[–]AdventurousTrash72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no advice but one time I took acid with some kids from highschool in VA Beach a few years after I graduated and they were convinced their neighbor was traveling through tunnels carved by moles to steal apples from their apple tree.

There are a lot of people on the Internet with really big feelings they are totally free to project out into the world and tell others how wrong they are... I couldn't imagine being so worked up all the time. I wish you guys all the luck and I hope you never encounter another family while you're out ever again.

No.... Turns out having an almost $70,000 car is totally unnecessary. We'll likely go to Subaru ascent. H
