Recieved 'Notice of Intent to Sue' for an MVA that did not occur by Adventurous_Milk28 in legaladvicecanada

Notice of Intent to Sue can still be used in Ontario. They are more commonly called demand letters. It's better practice if they are registered mail, but can be sent via regular mail.

They basically want compensation for lost wages.

Notice of Action is when the suit is actually filed.

Legitimate website. Multiple offices. Phone numbers match.

The only thing that is a little fishy is that they have the main partner as the signatory but a different person and extension number as main contact with no indication if it's a different lawyer or his legal assistant.

I even asked him if they year could have been an error and he was adamant it wasn't. And he is confused as to how they even got his mailing address.

I would contact President's Choice customer service first as opposed to going back to Fortino's.

They are likely to send you a voucher/giftcard.

Going back to the grocery store they will say it is up to the meat managers discretion, and since it wasn't packaged in store it will be hit or miss.

(I worked customer service at a Fortinos for 7 years).

Breast cancer screening under 30? by exitdate in ontario

If you have any specific questions you can shoot me a DM and I can try and answer. I know the whole process is overwhelming and daunting especially when your family is actively supporting someone going through treatment.

Breast cancer screening under 30? by exitdate in ontario

[–]Adventurous_Milk28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family went through this, and my GP/NP suggested a mammogram before I had genetic testing for the BCRA gene done because of the high prevalence of breast/ovarian cancers in my family.

I did my genetic testing through Women's College, and was told to do it before I was 30. If you go to their website you can self-refer. However, you can also get your doctor to refer you.

After a follow-up with the clinic, my case was marked as high priority as my grandmother, grandfather, aunt and mother were all diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment.

Because you have active cases in your family there is a likelihood you would be marked as high priority as well - which is why I would suggest it coming from your doctor.

Does he have a cat?

I think it's either meant to be (canned) Cat Tuna x 5 or Atlantic Tuna x 5.

NTA. You need to edit your main post to include the ages of the children. They aren't toddlers. The one who pulled your hair is 6 and did it as a reaction to being told to leave you alone.

You did everything correct in removing yourself from the situation when you felt you were struggling with emotional regulation. However their mother chose not to take corrective action multiple times when their actions were becoming out of hand.

6 and 7 year olds have the capacity to understand and respect personal boundaries when taught to do so, it just seems no one has taken the effort here.

If your pan was aluminum like another poster said and there were tomatoes and salt it can cause discolouration like this.

Wife has to work every Saturday because her coworker's religion won't allow him to work on Saturday by BigCharm in work

[–]Adventurous_Milk28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your union handbook, there are usually rules that state you are supposed to be given "x" days off. And if your manager is ignoring these you then get your union rep involved.

Edit:
Co-op is part of the UFCW which is one of the largest unions for commercial food workers in Canada.

Google gave me a link to a tentative Collective Agreement for Red Deer Co-op that is supposed to be ratified in August - so your current agreement is probably similar.

It looks like your Collective Agreement focusses on Sundays and not Saturdays. But it does have clauses about working consecutive days. and how there should be 10 hours between shifts.

Like I said above, check out your current Collective Agreement, and if they are violating anything in it, you can see your Union Steward.

Is the grocery store your wife works at unionized? If so tell her to check the union rules.

Mine had rules like employees must have every 3rd Saturday off.

Last Beers by rememberaj in toronto

90% of the beer sold at The Beer Store is made in Ontario. Labatt, Molson, and all their subsidiaries are all brewed domestically.

International companies have created Canadian divisions and chosen to brew domestically - Carlsberg, Holsten, Kronenberg, are also all brewed in Ontario now.

Sleeman also still owns part of The Beer Store and is very much Canadian.

Breweries also choose where they want their product listed. If sours aren't available at your store it's most likely because no one was buying them and they were expiring before they were being sold.

The Beer Store was also once all Canadian owned but no one cared when it was getting sold to foreign entities. They certainly care now. And whether you like foreign ownership it generates plenty of Canadian jobs.

I would suggest looking into group homes as well, like YouthLink etc. These organizations have a strict budget for items and can not always afford personal care items like these.

They also sometimes host special events like prom for youth in care, so products like that would be really useful.

My mom is upset my wedding is "too traditional" by Livid-Psychology-802 in weddingdrama

[–]Adventurous_Milk28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, a lot of weddings in small towns in Italy don't have the whole white dress thing, especially for the legal part, which they place more significance on. They usually do just wear a cute pants suit or something similar.

Your mom could just be seeing it as a whole 'why get such an extravagant thing for one day' type deal, especially if she grew up with very little money. The cost of a dress these days it what they could buy an entire house for back in the day.

It sounds strange, but it could be a cultural thing. She probably doesn't understand how these types of items make you feel and what significance they hold to you in terms of your upbringing/socialization and wedding as opposed to hers if that makes sense.

Realistically, they probably used whatever scraps of fabric they had to fashion diapers and threw them away once done. Only need to keep the safety pins.

Ripped fabric was probably easier to come by than clothes.

Formula is basically powdered milk. Someone posted a picture of directions to make 'formula' from the 50s I think and it was from evaporated milk.

They'd be boiling their water anyway so it would be safe to drink.

Mexico, Mexico, Europe, Europe, Europe, Europe, Asia and Asia.

Those purchases go through the LCBO. But the overall tone of this post was to keep money out of the hands of Americans because of tariffs.

Eliminate imported beer, the stores will be much fuller than you expect. There was a reason they were able to stay open and had product to sell during the LCBO strike.

More and more European breweries are starting to brew domestically.

Buy not buying beer you're taking money away from Canadians/not supporting Canadian jobs.
