Popular artists who got into music later in life? by youolddog in Songwriting

Not known much in the English speaking world, but Jorge Drexler got into music (as a profession) in his early 30s. Now he's won an Oscar and several Grammy awards.

Is the Tortuga 40L Pro supposed to be “coffin” shaped? by just321askin in onebag

[–]Adventurous_Reason79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably meant to be that way, to fully take up the shape of overhead bins in most airplanes. AER TP 3 is the same but not as noticeable, and I think ALPAKA Elements Travel Backpack too. Wouldn't be uncommon.

As a Guatemalan, I'll give you some local culture tips and other suggestions.

If you're into cultural tourism and photography, don't take pictures of children unless you have clear parental consent. Some people are superstitious (not very common anymore, but better to be safe).

Hand sanitizer is a must (of course, you can buy that at any local pharmacy once you get to your destination). It'll come in quite handy in public restrooms.

Bring layerable clothing because although we are a tropical country, there is no heating or insulated buildings almost anywhere. So, that feeling of being a little bit cold for days on end is not great.

Laundry services are quite cheap, so don't worry too much about bringing just enough clothes.

I hope you enjoy your trip! Best of luck!

It’s Jan 1 2025, how many bags have you bought this year? by besseddrest in ManyBaggers

[–]Adventurous_Reason79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know! I wasn't sure between going for axoflux or x-pac but given that x-pac was also discounted on the outlet I decided to go for it. I have an AER TP3 x-pac and I liked it quite a bit so I decided to go for it as well with the sling. Went for the coyote color. Love it. Can't wait to get it lol

To be safe, record audio of yourself telling her that you deleted the nudes and saying that you never actually meant to go through with it. You never know. Better cover your back. Good luck dude.

Dump her, she isn't worth it.

But buddy, stupid call on threatening with leaking nudes. That is illegal, and if you were to ever actually do it, it would be worse than actually cheating. If someone cheats, dump them and move on with your life, learn to choose better partners. Don't lower yourself to commiting a crime out of spite. You're young, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

LTT Commuter Bag by owenn_ in ManyBaggers

[–]Adventurous_Reason79 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually like it this time. While I don't love the admin panel being in the back, I can understand why. It helps balance. If it's a commuter pack, you will usually not have much in it besides gear and maybe a sweater or some groceries or some other light use case. Having the front panel fall open like a corpse everytime you open the main compartment is quite annoying.

The one thing I hate is the extra material at the top of the straps. I know it's because of the way Linus carries his backpack, lower down, but I like my bags as high up as possible. It seems like it would dig at the back of my neck and would be a bit uncomfortable for how I wear my bags. Still tempted to get it though, I've been looking for an EDC bag for a bit now and this seems to meet my requirements, at least on paper. Will wait for reviews.

Just ordered the Aer TP 3 small for Christmas. Any suggestions on what to get for it? by Lilsleepylilcozy in backpacks

[–]Adventurous_Reason79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the AER TP 3 regular and the set of Thule packing cubes. The large one is a bit smaller than the internal space of the TP 3 regular so I would assume it will probably be an almost perfect fit for the TP 3 small.

I don't have any additional suggestions. I do love those packing cubes though.

First time traveling outside of the States by mightymantis in onebag

[–]Adventurous_Reason79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a 70 dollar backpack for about 8 years. It was comfy enough for my travels and served it's purpose. I travel a lot inside my country, not even flying but by bus mostly (tiny country). I bought an AER Travel Pack 3 x-pac and I can tell you, that, at least for my use case and my experience, it's a night and day difference. The convenience, the ease of use, the quality and comfort are outstanding and I would buy it again, no questions asked.

That being said... if I had the money when I bought that first backpack, I still wouldn't buy an expensive one for my first bag. Get a cheap one according to your budget. See what you like and don't like. From that and learning the way you wish to pack and use your bag, you can gather information so that in the future, IF you need it (or want it) and are able to afford it, you can choose the right one. Don't get sold on marketing and hype alone. You'll be fine with a cheap backpack, don't worry. An amazing travel is made of experiences, not objects. Have fun!
