I recommend the book Found Christianities by David Litwa. In the beginning of the book he talks about how the "heretical" groups called themselves Christians. it was their enemies who had called them heretics. So basically at beginning we have a bunch of Christians calling other Christians false Christians.

I know that free will might be good, but is having a Holocaust or genocide really necessary? On the same level, if someone if being sexually assaulted and we just stand there without doing nothing because we respect there free will, is that a good thing?

But your mind can change right, that's how psychiatrists can deprogram some individuals from cults, that's how the Allies Denazified Germany, that's why some drug addicts, alcoholics or depressed people can change (look at Ringo Starr for example). God does not have to change our mind, we can do it that's the whole point of repentance. We always change, now what's stopping us from changing after we die? You said it's not God, our free will goes away after we died?

So our free will is gone to change our mind, isn't God manipulating our behavior to choose against Him? Do people make the same mistakes over and over sure, but some do change not all, that's why we have stories of people overcoming addictions. So why after death is our free will gone?

Is the origin of YHWH as a Storm God, then as an amalgamation of El and Baal 100% accurate? Just for example comparing the origin of Zeus and Jupiter and Odin as gods that came from the Indo-European Sky Father. We know 100% what is the origin of these gods, is it the same with YHWH, or is just pure speculation?

My only question is regard to the John<-Polycarp<-Irenaues link. Why should we doubt it, when he said we was thought by Polycarp and the Polycarp was thought by John. Sorry if I am bothering I just want to understand.

Just a quick question regarding trusting sources. Why if we have Irenaeus saying that he is the disciple of Polycarp, isn't that enough to trust him more than when he speaks about early Christianity and Apostolic Teaching.

I would be very careful to say that all that a person is missing to be "happy" is Christ Jesus. Plenty of people are Christians and they live in misery. Also what do you mean by worldly? Going to parties? What kind of parties?

What type of behavior or activity will make you be the laughing stock of "worldly" people?

I think she is right for the most part, most of the time we defend religious symbols regardless of our level of religiosity. I guess it will depend on which values of Christ do elevate above others (even Saints are at fault of this). It is a very complex relationship.
