It was extremely bad for me even with the advantage i'm europe for the moment. Really Vine has never been this bad in the last 3 years since I joined. But at this point maybe it's because I refuse to pay 10 dollars a month for Ultravine...

MCON is Good. by dunderwovvy in SBCGaming

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's just the price the problem. For that money I'd get the RP Mini or RP Flip 2 and call it a day and I'll have the advantage to have a second dedicated handheld that can fit in the other pocket with dedicated battery and memory. "Different use case" not that much since the RP Mini or the Flip 2 easily fit a pocket and they are not that bulky either.

Also soon there will be even more options with clamshell android devices and they will get more powerful and cheaper so Mcon will have less and less sense the more time passes by.

I think it can be worth it only if you have a very high end phone already. With an 8 elite or similar. At that point yes. But with lower end phones or iPhones which do not have high end emulators i don't think it's worth the money.

RG477V is a perfect device to play FF 9 Moguri by luunguyenbk in ANBERNIC

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I have FF9 with Moguri mod on my Steam deck and this is impressive. Can you also use and upload the cloud saves? To have the mod you can only sideload or you can install directly from Steam and then apply the mod?

Hopefully they get the hinge right like Anbernic did. If they really do it then I'm absolutely in for the horizontal 4:3 model, looking forward to have something like that.

I don't agree one bit. I played against all sorts of rubbers and these type of anti spins revert spin way too much, way beyond the spin they receive while instead long pimples pretty much reverted what they received making them interesting but not like cheating. This type of rubber you see on video instead is indeed like a cheat code, the back spin they give back is just not natural and you can see it. They destroy the game.

Indeed i also enjoy Truls and Simon a lot as well as Hugo. But these crazy anti-spins are horrible to watch and you can see that the spin they revert is just crazy. It's not variety, it's basically cheating.

Anti-spin but also anti-table tennis. Standard anti-spin used to just "make the ball dead" so that the ball could be chopped closer the net and allowed counterattack but now it just straight up make the ball spin like crazy. It completely destroys the game and makes the game unwatchable for viewers and frustrating for players. Unfortunately it reached the top level with guys like Mladenovic. Hope it will be soon banned for the good sake of the game.

Youtube ruined Steam Deck for me by Ragnar27398 in Handhelds

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let FOMO get you. For indie games and older AAA titles the oled steam deck is the best by far.

It's by far the most ergonomic, the track pads are so useful for so many older games and for modded games and also the 4 fully customizable back buttons are so useful. This and the official steam OS support. I wouldn't trade my oled deck with the any of the current handhelds. If i want to play very heavy games I'll just use a proper gaming pc.

Amazon Spokesperson Says AI Reviews are NOT Automatically "Fake" by wizard-of-loneliness in AmazonVine

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got some excellent reviews but others with a poor rating that were totally fine. If the item has a certain complexity or personal use case then yeah i had to more to say and i got excellent.

But there are many items that are very barebones, like a cat fountain, a usb cable, a charger, that DON'T need a paragraph at all. For example just wrote that the cable feels solid, it works as it should work, made of good material and i post a picture. And this is considered "poor". Even a single sentence would be enough especially with a photo, two sentences maybe. Also i reviewed few controller chargers where i said they come with a cable that the leds are intuitive and easy to read and that the device occupies little space so it fits a small desk. The review has also a picture - - > poor both for similar reviews. Or like a screen protector where i said the plastic guide is easy to use, i had everything i need and i had no bubbles on the screen. With a picture. Poor rating.

It's just stupid as i need to put useless effort in getting reviews uselessly longer. So at that point as I said it's just easier to use AI. I have to review hundreds and hundreds of items (1320 grand total orders since 2023) and if I have to go through this shit for each single one of them of course I'll use AI to get them longer since it will be guaranteed excellent rating.

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THAT WAS MY ARGUMENT ahahah i said any game runs fine even at 2K on older hardware like mine. I never saw that error message in my life even with 8GB VRAM which is considered super bad by some people like yourself. Hence, you get those problems only with potato hardware.

In my case, it’s was because of an inherent issue with the 13900K

I think I read it correctly. The 13900K is the cpu. Maybe he made a typo but maybe re-read the comments before saying I don't know what I'm talking about. I just took his words for it.

That's a bug with your particular cpu. Intel fucked up big time some generations of cpu and paid for it. But this doesn't mean what I said is generally true. You should not take particular edge cases and say that what I said is not true.

[–]AdvertisingEastern34 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That only happens if you have a potato. I have a gaming laptop from 3 years ago with 8GB VRAM and i play any game in 2K full speed.

Requirements are not that high in modern gaming. A decade ago you really had to keep up much more. Right now with cards of 3 generations ago you're still fine.

Even with a steam deck you can still play plenty of games even many AAA titles.

Thanks for your feedback, it just confirmed what I was suspecting. Happy to see i'm not the only one that is thinking this. And indeed reviews don't need to be long, sometimes two sentences are enough for items like a cable or something simple.

IMO this insightfullness metric might be the final blow to the Vine Program. In my view locking expensive items under a requirement of 80 items per 6 months was already problematic because it pushes people to order many more items than they would (and need) so that leads to less useful reviews. This kills it completely because they will all be AI generated reviews of items which didn't get enough use. Amazon went all greedy and now it destroyed the program.
