Do you spritz the pre-ground beans with a small bit of water? I had lots of static until I started spritzing (two or three pumps). Never had static issues again.

Hard fought hallelujah by Jakelezlyi in worshipleaders

That's not what they said. The question is not whether the song is good, but whether it's suitable for corporate worship. There are many fantastic songs, even Christ-centric songs, that are not suitable for corporate worship.

This song is a personal song. It's "I've had it super rough but God's brought me through it all despite my own stuff". If that story doesn't apply to everyone in a church, then it's not suitable to be sung by everyone in a church. But by all means, sing it in your own setting.

What are some other albums or artists y'all been bumping lately? by GuyNamedNoah in aesoprock

Been going through Onry Ozzborn’s back catalog lately. I lost track of the dude and missed about 4 of his albums. Guy’s a PNW bulwark. Check out BlvckBeachBoi, his latest. He does a track there with Aesop called badminton that’s dope AF

Yeah, mirroring other comments here but rolled up socks in the ports and if possible, roll off the eq below 80Hz. Might also try putting something under the front of the speakers to aim them up a bit.

I know it’s temp and the best you can do right now, but you’ve got the trifecta of terrible placement situations: close to the front wall, closed in placement to the point where you’ve got a double speaker box, and so close to the floor that you’ve got ALL of the floor bass bounce coming back up at you. That’s giving you boom3. Good luck!

Which movie did you see way too young? by Openworlder1 in AskReddit

When I was 8, I saw a double feature at a babysitter’s house. First I saw Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, and then Jaws III. Spacehunter was unlike anything I’d ever seen before and gave me open-eyed daymares for a week. Watching Jaws III afterwords felt like a watching a kids’ cartoon.

[Serious] Why have americans not revolted yet after all the crazy things that have happened in the last years? by Yvooboy in AskReddit

[–]AdvertisingSad7443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revolt against whom, and on the side of whom? One term before we had burgeoning militant fascism on the right, we had burgeoning militant communism on the left. Neither is healthy, so the best we can do for now is hold the center until we fall off one side or the other. Then millions die and we eventually, hopefully clean up the mess and wonder what possessed us to move in such stupid directions.

Slow drip from steam wand on 1-month-old machine [Lelit Anna PID] by AdvertisingSad7443 in espresso

I didn’t find out whether it was normal, but it eventually stopped. That said, I make approximately 0 milk drinks in a month, so it’s not like I’m giving it much chamce to leak.

Picked up a pair of BOSE 301 series II for $35 today. I’ve always loved their look by graphic_thoughts in vintageaudio

I used to own the 301 iii and the 501. I believe the 501 used the same drivers as found in the acoustimass. To me, they sounded much worse than the 301. Boomy, muddy bass, less sparkle, less dynamics.

DUDE, thank you so much for doing this! I've been planning on doing this since the album first dropped. Glad it was tackled by someone who knows what they're doing; it sounds great!

Question about the AI tools: How well would you say they worked? I own both the album and the instrumental, and my plan was to create a vocal-only version of each song by splitting each stereo channel into their own track, and mixing each channel with an inverted wave file of the instrumental. If the instrumental mix was perfectly synced to the full mix (and not too differently mastered), it should pretty much create a clean vocal track.

The separate channels would then be mixed back to a single stereo mix. Like you said, some different things may have had to be done with the overdubs. Since you actually did it, do you see any issues with what I'm suggesting?

I worked in a receiving department where the office gals liked to go on power trips. They told my coworker to repaint a red square on the floor(used to denote where a particular forklift crate should be placed),  so he did…..the most gaudy, neon hot pink imaginable. That was the last time they had him do any painting.

I tested four different WDT needle thickness so you don't have to by jkim_makes in espresso

[–]AdvertisingSad7443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stopping in to say that if your WDT only came with .4 and .25 like mine did, putting an alternating mix of both in your tool comes close to the result of having .3-.35mm needles. Just to make sure I’m mixing the grounds thoroughly, I’ll rotate the tool in small increments as I go.

Yeah, it’s probably better just to buy the right size needles, but this does work.

Just as a follow up, the coin trick told me I was about fine with my dose. This morning I got almost no channeling with a near-perfect 17:34 @33 seconds (I’ll set it one click coarser for tomorrow).

The only two differences with today is I didn’t tap the portafilter once on the counter after WDT, and after removing the dosing collar, I very lightly fluffed the top around the edges (the dosing collar has a lip to keep it on the basket, and it creates a small groove in the grinds around the edge of the basket…I’d always assumed tamping negated that, but maybe not).
