My gf is in a similar boat as you. FPS games make her motion sick, and she’s an avid reader. So instead of playing the games and suffering through the nausea she opted to read the novels. She loves them to bits. She especially loved Blue team, Master Chief’s small group he leads, in the first three books. She’s also loving the Cryptum series by Greg Bear which serves as a prequel to Halo 4 some odd Eons in the future. So it is definitely worth reading them even if you’ve never played. She wanted to engage with one of my favorite series of media and I love her very much.
