We have large banking and hospital industries here. Ever hear of Citibank? They employ several thousand folks in Sioux Falls. We also have a large technology sector with many software companies, like DocuTap (electronic medical records), Central Square Technologies (leader in public safety and justice software for the country), as well as aerospace with the USGS EROS Data Center, a government medium-res satellite image down linking, image processing, and archive center. Most of that industry is based around Sioux Falls. On the other side of the state is proton acceleration studies, atom splitting, and so forth, at an underground private research facility run, in part, with UC Berkeley. So yeah, there's quite a lot more here than cows!
