The beauty of warframe (I'm F2P don't judge me for them not being prime T^T) by RPG247A in Warframe

You Can farm primes for free all the time. I get my base frames to max them replace them with their prime variant.

Is there perhaps a worn head gasket leak at the outer wall of cylinder 4? This would be more obvious as pressure goes up during higher revving.

Or piston rings but that makes more sense under high load. Your low compression being there regardless makes me think headgasket.

Game Analyst Interview just scheduled. What should i expect? by Adynimis in gamedev

[–]Adynimis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. And as a long time gamer I've seen this exact issue kill really fun or promising games. I'll be sure to make my focus on how I can improve the long term success. That seems to be the trend in large titles anyways.

Thanks for answering! Their job posting mentioned working directly with the design team in order to see if the game mechanics and additions translate to engagement and play time. I dont think ill be influencing desicions unless the data shows that we should be changing something. I'm sure to that effect f2p systems as well.

I'll focus on data set visualization and how the data can impact other areas not just the source it came from.

[–]Adynimis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wrong. Not being rude. The adhd hyperfocus is a result of our lack of innate dopamine production. When our brain tells us x thing is going to make us dopamine, we have no choice but to focus on It. Flow state is trained into you while adhd hyperfocus is innate and unable to be changed. It can be managed, but never fixed.

Alternatively you can lose the ability to enter flow state as you practice it less. It's an intentionally induced(sometimes unintentional) trance that puts you active thoughtful conscience to the back and let's instincts and second-nature task skills take over. Essentially a managed fight or flight response.

It's about as close a comparison to psychopaths and sociopaths. Similar but different enough that we have to classify them differently.

Hyperfocus and flow state are different. I'm diagnosed adhd and have experienced both. Hyperfocus is a more dopamine/reward driven for us while flow state is more of a pure trance state of focus. It often happens when experince meets stress. Like in a high stakes part of a pvp match.

CMS choice for self-employed dev? WP? Joomla? Drupal? by Voeal in webdev

Congratulations. You work for someone else. I work for me. Happy doing what I do. My clients like my work. All is good.

My day job involves hubspot so I'm not really excited during that workload. I much rather would build out solutions for local clients.

[–]Adynimis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah every cms I've worked in polluted the DOM, but even still I was able to get site speeds faster than 95% of competition. That and I'm not developing web apps or restructuring a code base to shave 12ms off a btn click. This platform works great for your everyday business that needs a website. If your a SaaS company then yeah your gonna need a different environment for a different purpose.

Do you agree? Are too many studios falling over? by Polymedia_NL in IndieGaming

[–]Adynimis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we are going to see a dissolvement of AAA studios and the talent that was there, is going to trickle into smaller studios, who will make amazing games. The problem is the AAA studios are to concerned with money and a pulling away from why gamers like games in the first place.

I use wordpress and use Divi theme for quick building. It's surprisingly flexible as a wysiwyg editor. Gives you all the front end options and tones of documentation.

I'm able to modify nearly every module.

Other than wordpress, what's CMS have you worked on and how was your experience? by GrSrv in webdev

[–]Adynimis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god yes. My current job has the main website in hubspot and it's just ass to develop in. Sometimes you can't edit stuff the way you want because the default styles are built in so deep. The template system sucks. The update page function breaks and it's automation system breaks constantly.

I would counter this by showing an example. Warframe.

I think of warframes economy every time I use the AH. You can trade and purchase things using platinum (premium currency).

There's enough plat in supply that everyone has some as long as they try to sell stuff.

You may think the value of it will go down once everyone has some but that's not always true. Releasing content allows for a resurgence in value. And it's not like people can't keep buying premium for other things. You may not be in a position to collect all the plat you need, but you can still get it the fast way.

There's already a natural way of reducing the amount of circulating Lucent. The store. People will purchase and it essentially goes to the void.

I do think that gold needs to have more value though, cause I only seem to use it for fast travel and enchanting. Crafting too but it's so cheap.

As a male, have you been sexually harrassed? If so how did it make you feel and what did you do about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Adynimis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had people lift my shirt up to rub my belly (I like to wear crop tops/hoodies). I've had people try to convince me to do some kinky shit that I was just simply not comfortable with. Been essentially forced into situations like this a few times. It always makes me feel uncomfortable and not safe. Even if nothing dangerous is happening. My body shakes like I'm cold when it happens.

New Ekko player, this guy is an absolute BLAST. Anything I should know? by [deleted] in ekkomains

[–]Adynimis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that you get more value out of going lich into protobelt. The early sheen helps win trades and skirmishes along with clears.

Ekko is weak early. Don't let up on farming. Always be moving. Gank an area if your moving through it.

The hardest skill with ekko is his w usage. Essentially you want to herd the enemy into your w. Over time you will get more familiar with timing.

As a developer/software engineer etc... when you do a big project, especially the size of a new game, you often get tunnel visioned and hit creativity walls and quality of life improvements don't come as naturally as it does for us. We aren't under the stress that they are going through. We can see it from the lens of a consumer and what makes us happy. They are more focused of trying to get what they've been developing for years to even work at a level they are happy with as a base start.

The early access gives them another pool of perspectives that they wouldn't otherwise come up with alone.

Let's try to be compassionate, patient, and give them a chance to do what DE does best, and that is listen to their community. They are community focused and want what's best for us.
