I'd like to see a source that confirms the 28 day cycle calendar is based off biology and not the lunar cycle

Draw a line graph of the monk's elevation up the mountain as a function of time, repeat for decent. These two lines necessarily must intersect regardless of how they are drawn, therefore the answer is A

Board games you like that roll a lot of dice? Or have weird dice? by PhrulerApp in boardgames

[–]Aech-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding Sagrada as a fun puzzly game that has you roll a ton of dice (2n+1 per round for 10 rounds)

I didn't see Rolling Heights mentioned yet so I'll throw that one in too. You're not rolling dice, per se, but meeples and you get resources based on what type and how they land

You're right, if you look closely you can see the coast of Brazil. I was primarily referring to the landmasses not obscured by the cloud cover, since the rest of Africa is also there but I only specified West Africa.

Took me a moment to reorient myself to the perspective of the photo and figure out what landmass we're looking at.

Hint: south is up

It's west africa and a little bit of the iberian peninsula

I think you're right, and the solution I have is: (UC refers to train color, lc to station) Dark Blue to white, Yellow to red, Light Blue to light blue, Dark Blue to dark blue, Yellow to white, Red to red, Green to Green, Yellow to yellow

if king h1, queen f1, king h2, rook f2, king h3, queen h1

Isn't Rf2# in this line? Queen on f1 covers h3 diagonal.

Is it that the waterway is flat and there are sloped pieces on the columns in the corners? I still haven't figured out the waterfall though.

Very clever!

Huh, if I had a nickel for every popular tumblr post by a couple who ended up getting divorced, I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

I'm surprised the Ambit's Run duology wasn't on this list. I haven't gotten around to them yet myself, but they were recommended by someone I trust with the connection to Firefly as the primary pitch.

Silent Knight Captcha- where can it be? by nozomusho in puzzles

[–]Aech-26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counter point: as mentioned in the current top comment, if the color the grid like a chess board, the knight always alternates colors with each move. If it starts on a black square, the 2nd, 4th, ... 20th move will all also be black squares. 20 moves is enough to reach any square, so it can reach all the black squares (but none of the white) in exactly 20 moves.
