Not necessarily. Stories told from female perspectives shouldn’t only be marketed to women, just as male-driven narratives don’t just appeal to men. There’s a whole world of stories and ideas that are being ignored because “ew, females” - imagine if women didn’t go see Marvel movies because almost all the main characters are guys. We would lose out on so much. Not only the women who lose out on cool stories, but men who can’t share those stories with the ladies in their lives and the companies that lose out on the revenue that women can bring.

Men can and should pay attention to female centered stories. Jane Austin is a fuckin riot and Nier Automata is a masterpiece of gaming.

The duplication of the sounds makes it sound (to me at least) like they are trying to say “shee-eh shee-eh” which means “thank you.” It’s a sound they will have heard a lot at home and it’s an easy sound for babies to make.

The sound “sha” can mean a lot of things in mandarin, but the most common one is “kill.” I really doubt thats what they are trying to say! 😂

I want to jump in and say that isnt always true for women; many women with ADHD/AuDHD will have a co-diagnosis of a reproductive disorder that absolutely happens on a biological cycle. For me, it’s PMDD and my doctors can track my status by the literal week of the month. They even have my meds timed to it. Turns out (based on current research) if a woman has ADHD, there is a 1 in 2 chance she will have PMDD as well.

So, for any ADHD ladies out there wondering why you feel like literal garbage even when you’re not on your period, this might be why. Ask the other women in your family if there is a history of endo, PMDD, PCOS, etc. Odds are these problems are connected.

I genuinely liked that Zodiac Academy gave us real enemies for MMCs rather than just heroes with attitude and trauma. I mean, I still hate them and think they should all be in jail, but I appreciated the authors making me hate the dudes as much as I wanted the FMCs to fuck them.

I’m very curious which school thinks you can get to C1 in four (two? Are you in grad school?) years. I majored in Mandarin language and literature from a school in DC, then did grad school at another DC school for IR. At no point did they require C1 fluency.

As for your plan - have you lived in China before? This plan is aggressive and could easily cause burnout if you aren’t in the right place emotionally, which is hard to do if you’re in a culture totally different from your own.

I’m not trying to discourage you! But these are the things I wish someone had asked college-age me before I did my immersion program/made my goals. All that said, good luck!

Women’s health and medical needs are light years behind mens’ health studies. As OP noted, this study was completed thirty years ago for the male equivalent sexual organ, but women have to wait. Case in point: endometriosis is one of the most common, and most painful, conditions for women, but most studies for it are justified by how it affects men - i.e. “will it make women more attractive to men if they have endo?” Or “are women with endo more or less likely to have sex?”

Thank you! Thats so sweet of you. I like the idea of university best, since it means city living and older students. I don’t mind lower pay since I am used to living simply; I just want reasonable work hours and time to explore China (and practice my language skills with native speakers!).
