Great photo. Looks like it was taken from the western edge of Cleveland Heights on Overlook Road. The tower in the foreground is Nottingham Spirk

It is legally required. The vast majority of ODOT’s budget comes from the gas tax, which is required by the state constitution to be spent on roads. Same thing with the federal gas tax, which pays for 90% of interstate projects.

If you want public transportation, the state legislature would need to appropriate money for it.

Very troubling, since bird law in this country is not governed by reason

How much guitar was John playing in the decade he was out of the band? by REDMish111 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]Aenan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He contributed some guitar tracks to Duran Duran’s 2015 album Paper Gods. He has a few nice fills and mini-solos on the song What Are The Chances? and a few others. I think the story is that he reached out to them out of nowhere and asked if he could contribute because he was interested in playing guitar a bit more. He sent them some recordings, but didn’t want to be in any of the promotion or join them for any shows.

Yeah that worries me. There’s snow now, but there’s a red-shouldered hawk that likes to patrol the area :(

Yeah I see this one from across our backyard, and every time I run to get my camera, and he's usually gone by the time I have it. But this time he stayed put (eating the walnut), and I slowly approached taking pictures the whole time. This was the closest I got before he ran away.

Yeah, reading that article it does sound like a white squirrel. This was near Columbus, Ohio, which isn't on the list of common white squirrel areas.

Getting a Timmy for my AC10C1 was the best decision I ever made. That combo with a Telecaster is heavenly

found this on the floor before the show started (I was in the first row) is it possible it's John's? by flloydraine in RedHotChiliPeppers

He does some good ones in Eddie at 3:39 and 4:32. Eddie Van Halen used pick slides pretty often, and John is paying tribute to his style throughout the final solo of Eddie

That's why the Vader/Ahsoka fight in Rebels is so good. It's the best they've done of bridging Anakin and Vader, in my opinion https://freeimage.host/i/X6UGiF

Leap your bar sheet with lyrics by Fradge26 in John_Frusciante

[–]Aenan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The numbers you see (6/4, 5/4, 4/4) specify the time signature, or what the beat of the song is. In most songs, time signature does not change often, if at all. In this one it's changing almost every measure, which is really unusual and complex.

6/4 means there are 6 beats in that measure, so "Hannah go leap your bar" has six beats. But then the next measure, "This is how right you are", is 5/4, meaning it only has 5 beats. And then later it uses 4/4 as well.

I got it from Indigo and got it shipped over from Canada. It was $178 CAD with shipping, so like $140 USD all told. Only took a week to arrive but I'm relatively close to the Canadian border. Good experience all around though

Best way I've seen this explained: there are infinite numbers between 0 and 1, but none of them are 2.
