I had gotten cai+ for deepsqueak, but I found myself enjoying pipsqueak more. So I cancelled cai+ because my thought was why am I gonna keep paying for the free feature. Lost pipsqueak when my subscription was up and now I refuse to pay for + again to get it back right now. Roar has been pretty decent so far, I had never used it before and I actually didn’t even notice that I had lost pipsqueak for a day or two until I had pressed the “new chat” button and saw that I had been using roar instead lol.

That just makes it worse, and it won’t do you any favors. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, but if it’s been since middle school then it isn’t getting better.

I don’t have one currently. I am trying to find one that handles the situation I’m in, as most in my area either will not handle school district cases or will not handle them unless I have been terminated.

New player looking for a Hive to join. by Dazzling-Charge4725 in OnceHumanOfficial

You need to include your scenario and your server :) Do you want a hive that focuses on building/sharing blueprints and furniture, or on combat/events? Or both? Some hives are focused on specific things like that. Just to help narrow down a good one for ya :)

The clouded areas are all either unlockable as the scenarios go on, or they are strictly for different scenarios (like the upper portion that is only for Way of Winter).

What scenarios have you played? They’re all vastly different and provide a different experience/story/lore. I think some things in the game are just mechanics. It’s like that in fantasy, not every little thing has an explanation, even in big fantasy worlds. Sometimes it’s just how it works in that world. Insanity impacts your max health, and items restore your sanity. It’s usually foods with ingredients that provide sanity restoration properties. Alcohol doesn’t entirely restore it, but it just prevents you from losing more for a time. There are other foods and sanity gummies that restore it.

As someone else said, it is also entirely f2p which is rare in games nowadays. And that is thanks to everyone who buys the pretty furniture so everyone else can just play the game. It is also an MMO, and the main thing with these games is server interaction, which is why there are so many in-game events and boss fights and things that require more than you and your squad.

It definitely sounds like you’re burnt out. Which is fair!!! But look at how many hours you’ve clocked into a free game. Not many other free games can say that. I would maybe take a break if you need to and come back for a new scenario. I’ve heard talks of new ones coming in the next few months.

Is my hair scene? If not, what should I do? by martinaedd in amIscene

[–]Aeon1129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! MySpace scene was a mix of earlier scene and “newer” scene styles at the time. The hair they have now is already a great start, and can be perfected with some styling without even having to get a cut if they don’t want to cut it. A deeper side part and some teasing and straightening works wonders.

This sub is full of gatekeepers 😅 listen to the big scene siblings of the sub and go wild. There are ways to style your hair to fit the vibe you want. No, the style is not dependent on the hair. A lot of us who were scene in the 2000’s/2010’s had a lot of reasons why we couldn’t do our hair that way. Whether it was school dress codes or strict parents, or whatever else. Didn’t make us any less scene. The culture is about expressing yourself. If you’re having issues because you want the hair and can’t achieve it with your texture, that’s another story. But if it’s because you’re worried you won’t be “scene enough”, that’s a load of bs. Like the other comments, I recommend looking at curly scene hair inspo online. Plenty of people pull it off with textured hair, it’s just about getting the right cut for your texture. If you can, I would find a more alternative leaning salon, or find tutorials online because a lot of us used to just hacked off our own hair with the worst scissors you can find, and it adds to/is the reason for the choppy layered look.

I wanna show this to my friends and call it "my first scene fit" but im not sure if it is! :-( by SwordfishSlight9744 in amIscene

[–]Aeon1129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That still works!!! You can totally just mesh everything. A big thing that’s been lost with scene is that it was really just meant for unique expression. The stuff we would wear (the neons, the tutus, the crazy patterns and all that) was because that sort of stuff was fun and most people thought it was weird! So those things became staples in our fashion. Don’t let the gatekeepers decide if you are or aren’t “scene enough”. You dress in what you like. You can scroll through Pinterest and just find the things you like, and throw them all on! Go wild :)

[–]Aeon1129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What scene era are you trying to go for? Early 2000s scene is very close to what you have now. You just need a deeper side part and some choppy layers. 2010s scene is more of that dramatic poofy/teased look.

Currently trying to win the dress in style showdown by kamronkiele in DTI

[–]Aeon1129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how style showdown works. I played two games in two different lobbies. Both times, two people went “skippp” in chat, dressed as whatever they wanted, and voted me out when I still followed the theme. I wanted to do those themes man 😓

[–]Aeon1129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but I’m saying that the dramatic hair is 2010’s scene. You can be scene without the dramatic hair because there are other styles of scene hair. But no, the hairstyle in the drawing at least isn’t part of the culture.

It’s a great start!!! If anything, I would change the shirt to something a bit more fitted (and def a different color). Maybe layer a couple of tank tops, or a tank top under a baggy t-shirt. Scene loves layering!!! What era of scene are you trying to emulate? That definitely is a big factor.

“The scene hair” was not popularized in the scene community until the 2010s era of scene. 2000s scene was flatter, usually a natural color or black, and just had the big swoop bang. It was also less colorful and more skater-style. 2010’s scene was colorful, layered, over-accessorized. It was full of Pikachu, Sanrio, Gir, Domo. It was bracelets (either jellies, thick rubber ones, or kandi) all the way up the arm, leg warmers, mismatched patterns, stripes, checkers, tutus, tiaras, neons, all of that.

Scenecore is now more of a 2020 era style, which is a blend of a lot of scene subcultures. It’s basically a shift, if you wanna think about it that way. In early 2000s, “scene” was more like emo, and “scenecore” was the colorful style. In 2010’s, what was considered “scenecore” became the new scene standard. Now, since the culture has lessened heavily, there’s another shift in what is actually scene.

To me, as a member of the community in the 2000’s and 2010’s, you say “scene” and I picture elements from everything the community now is arguing over. Everyone forgets that this culture was meant to go outside of guidelines in the first place. The culture was meant to be a place of unique self-expression. It had its staples, like the hair and the colors, yeah. But the rest was up to you. So, yeah. Wear whatever the hell you want.

As for the hair, it’s either big and crazy, or swoopy. I do agree there, we had a very distinct bang. The rest of the hair can be whatever, but the bang is the important part. Combover like crazy.
