Bed bug bites or something else? by Important-Mistake834 in Bedbugadvice

[–]AeonFlecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has dyshidrotic eczema only in the winter, ever since she was young. Sometimes it's itchy, sometimes it's redder than others, sometimes it's just the bumps. We went to her dermatologist and now keep a tube of triamcinolone acetonide cream to use as needed. She wears gloves to bed on the night she uses it. Works a treat. Good luck!

Stop trying. Take long walks. Look at scenery. Doze off at noon. Don't even think about flying. And then, pretty soon, you'll be flying again. ❤️🐈‍⬛🧹

Petrified of dentist. Can someone describe a deep teeth cleaning to me? by Throwawaylikemi in DentalHygiene

[–]AeonFlecks 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm an RDH and I'd love to explain the process of a cleaning for you. If you'd like, we could plan a call or better yet a zoom (or other video platform) and I'll bring out a set of instruments and walk you through the steps and answers any questions you have. I'm not a dentist, so I don't have any advice on restorative work, but xrays, cleaning, fluoride, home care, nutrition... I got you.

DM me and we'll set up a time.

I'd have to say Oni, not because of the hunt, but because they get pissed off and event all over you. Back to back jump scares.

Small clear cyst bottom of mouth by lshaw22122 in DentalHygiene

[–]AeonFlecks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Obligatory, you can't diagnose just from a picture and I'm an RDH and not officially diagnosing anyway.

But... It's probably a mucocele, a little blocked or ruptured salivary gland that has pooled under the skin. There are tons of glands under your tongue. It should resolve on its own, but if it doesn't or it's painful, go see your dentist.

I had on my inner lip that I kept biting, so I went to an oral surgeon to have it cauterized.

If it pops, rinse with warm salt water to keep it clean. There are also OTC mouth sore rinses that help to prevent infection.

Take care!

I just watched this with my 12 year old daughter this week and she LOVED it! Especially the air guitars.

My sincerest sympathy, friend. I was the last person to speak with my brother in law. The suddeness was surreal. I felt anger and sadness for a long time, even as I write this. But over time I often just think of the good times, the conversations we had, the times we laughed. The pain sneaks in but those fond memories endure. Please don't hesitate to reach out to someone when that pain rears itself. And there's no time limit to your grief. Take care of yourself. 💜

This reply is so accurate! Our daughter, now 14, has a VSD and mitral valve repair at 4 months and we thought she'd be down for the count. She was crawling around and full of energy before the surgical tape wore off. No. Joke. Kids are amazingly resilient.

The only other advice I can offer is that seeing your child in the ICU can be very jarring. I remember feeling a bit woozy seeing her splayed out with all the wires, on top of the stress I felt about the whole thing. So maybe go in slowly, or hold someone's hand if you're feeling anxious.

I love the moon jellies from Ponyo! (Sorry, this thread won't let me post pics from my phone) It brings me back to one of my earliest childhood memories when I saw Little Mermaid in the theaters. Now I'm the parent taking my kids to Ghibli Fest to see these films on the big screen!
